Job description

Payroll Leader, USAC & UK As a Payroll Leader, you will play a critical, hands‐on role in executing and supporting payroll operations across the U.S., Canada, and the UK. This position is a "working leader" where you will ensure completion of payroll processing, serve as the key point of coordination for payroll activities, manage vendor interactions, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Execute and support end‐to‐end payroll processing for the U.S. and Canada, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain overall responsibility and coordination for UK payroll operations, partnering with in‐region resources and vendors to ensure accurate and compliant processing. Serve as the primary contact for payroll vendors (e.g., ADP), supporting issue resolution, data validation, and ongoing service delivery. Process and review complex payroll transactions, including bonuses, off‐cycle payments, deferred compensation, and other special payments. Perform payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy, identify discrepancies, and support compliance requirements (including SOX controls). Support payroll‐related projects and system enhancements, including testing, implementation, and production support for Workday and payroll integrations. Assist in maintaining compliance with evolving payroll regulations; proactively flag risks and support updates to processes and controls. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation to improve consistency, scalability, and team effectiveness. Support issue resolution and escalations by researching payroll discrepancies and partnering with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance) and external vendors. Identify and contribute to process improvement opportunities, including automation, efficiency gains, and enhanced employee experience. Required Qualifications High School degree/GED with a minimum of eight (8) years' experience in Payroll, Human Resources, and/or Finance in a private, public, government, or military environment. OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in Payroll, Human Resources, and/or Finance in a private, public, government, or military environment. Preferred Qualifications ADP experience. Microsoft Excel experience, including ability to write macros. Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills. Demonstrated project management experience. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation. Experience with customer collections and dispute resolution. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working directly with customers on payment‐related issues. Work Location United States (Remote or on‐site) Travel Up to 10% domestic/international travel may be required.
