Summary
The Supervisor LPG Physician Coding provides day-to-day operational and technical leadership for professional (physician) coding functions supporting the Lee Physician Group (LPG). The Supervisor is responsible for supervising physician coders, ensuring accurate and compliant ICD 10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M coding, CMS, AMA compliance, knowledge of payer specific policies, while supporting quality documentation practices. This position partners closely with coding leadership, education, compliance, and practice operations to support coding quality, productivity, revenue integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Education: Associate Degree in Health Information Management or related field required. Three years' experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional physician coding experience required, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC),Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), RHIT, RHIA or equivalent required.
License: N/A
Other: Proficient with coding software and EMR. Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Consistently demonstrates integrity and strong attention to detail and vision that supports growth and change.
