Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior iOS Engineer based in Netherlands.

As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will play a key role in building high-quality mobile experiences that help users achieve their health and wellness goals. You will design, develop, and optimize features for a widely used iOS application while collaborating closely with Product and Design teams. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of impactful user-facing features, contribute to technical decisions, and improve the overall performance and reliability of a growing digital platform. You will join a remote-first, product-focused engineering environment that values autonomy, innovation, and proactive problem-solving. This position is ideal for an experienced iOS developer who enjoys hands-on development and making a measurable impact through technology.

Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, and release new iOS features with a strong focus on usability, performance, and delivering meaningful value to users.
  • Build and maintain scalable mobile architecture, including networking, data persistence, and state management solutions that support long-term product growth.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to transform user needs and product requirements into practical, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Contribute to technical planning by evaluating feasibility, identifying risks, and recommending approaches aligned with user and business objectives.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while participating in code reviews and improving engineering standards.
  • Take ownership of developed features by identifying opportunities for improvement, analyzing feedback, and iterating on solutions.
  • Improve application stability and performance by diagnosing technical issues, resolving crashes, and optimizing the overall user experience.
  • Contribute to a collaborative remote engineering culture based on ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with significant experience building iOS applications.
  • Proven experience delivering production-ready iOS apps from development through release and ongoing improvement.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift and modern iOS development practices.
  • Experience creating responsive, intuitive mobile interfaces with strong attention to detail and performance.
  • Deep understanding of iOS UI patterns, navigation systems, animations, and handling complex production scenarios.
  • Experience actively using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or similar tools to improve development speed, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Strong knowledge of iOS networking concepts, including REST or GraphQL APIs, authentication flows, caching strategies, error handling, and offline scenarios.
  • Experience designing and maintaining scalable architectures such as MVVM, Redux-style patterns, Clean Architecture, or similar approaches.
  • Strong understanding of iOS performance optimization, debugging tools, crash analysis, and profiling techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.
  • Experience with SwiftUI, scalable design systems, third-party SDK integrations, subscription flows, CI/CD tools, or cross-platform technologies such as React Native or React.js is considered an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a startup or fast-growing product environment is a plus.
