Opportunity to Grow into a Full-Time Position


Chesapeake Climate Control is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial HVAC Estimator to support our growing commercial division. This is a fully remote, part-time position with the potential to transition into a full-time role as our project volume continues to expand.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare accurate and competitive commercial HVAC estimates from plans, specifications, and project documents
  • Review and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and construction specifications
  • Develop detailed bid proposals and submittal packages
  • Coordinate with project managers, vendors, suppliers, engineers, and other trades throughout the estimating process
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Assist with value engineering and cost-saving recommendations
  • Maintain current pricing databases and estimating resources
  • Support budget development and scope reviews for commercial HVAC projects
  • Stay informed on industry trends, code requirements, and energy standards


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of commercial HVAC estimating experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, and installation practices
  • Ability to accurately interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Experience using estimating and takeoff software such as Bluebeam, FastEST, Trimble, AutoCAD, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Basis of Design documentation, Due Diligence Studies, and Owner's Project Requirements (OPRs)
  • Experience working with design-build or negotiated commercial HVAC projects
  • Vendor and subcontractor negotiation experience
  • Familiarity with project management and construction coordination processes
