  • Review RFQs, technical drawings, models, specifications, and customer quality requirements
  • Estimate material, labor, machine time, tooling, outside processing, inspection, and non recurring costs
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop practical routings and process assumptions
  • Coordinate with supply chain to obtain supplier quotes for materials, special processes, hardware, and subcontracted operations
  • Support quote package preparation and provide clear assumptions, risks, and exclusions
  • Analyze historical job performance and actual costs to improve future estimate accuracy
  • Help identify cost reduction opportunities through process changes, supplier alternatives, or design for manufacturability feedback
  • Maintain estimating records and support handoff from quote to production planning
Qualifications
  • 6 to 10 years of estimating, manufacturing engineering, planning, or process engineering experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal, fabrication, assembly, and outside processing
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD and T, and customer flowdown requirements
  • Experience estimating labor, cycle time, material requirements, tooling, and outside process costs
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working in ERP, MRP, quoting, or estimating systems
  • Ability to work cross functionally with sales, engineering, quality, purchasing, and production
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and documentation discipline
Preferred Skills
  • Experience quoting aerospace machined parts or complex assemblies
  • Familiarity with AS9100 environments and aerospace customer quality requirements
  • Experience with cost models, should cost analysis, or parametric estimating tools
  • CAD model review capability in SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar tools
