Job Summary:
Provides radiation dose distribution plans to Radiation Oncologists, using physical data from treatment machines and patient setup. Generates plans using beam modifying blocks, wedges, and bolus material to optimize dose distribution covering tumor volume. Translates treatment plans for therapists' implementation on treatment unit. ย Performs medical physics tasks under the general direction of the medical physicist, when requested.
A Certified Medical Dosimetrist in the Radiation Oncology Department must be capable of operating radiation-producing equipment utilizing radiation safety measures. Must be able to perform a series of complex and precise technical procedures. Must be able to design a treatment plan by hand calculation and by computer.
Education:
Required: Registered Radiation Therapist (RTT) in Radiation Oncology with Board Certification in Medical Dosimetry (MDCB), or Board Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)

Translates treatment plans for therapists' implementation on treatment unit. Assembles brachytherapy sources and hardware for implants. Performs radiation surveys and posts appropriate warning signs. Performs medical physics tasks under the general direction of the medical physicist, when requested.
A Certified Medical Dosimetrist in the Radiation Oncology Department must be capable of operating radiation-producing equipment utilizing radiation safety measures. Must be able to perform a series of complex and precise technical procedures. Must be able to design a treatment plan by hand calculation and by computer.

We are seeking a Medical Dosimetrist to join our collaborative team of 5 physicians, 3 physicists, 5 dosimetrists, and 1 physics resident in a high-quality radiation oncology program. Our current patient load is 80 to 100 patients per day across 3 linacs.


Position Overview
This role offers the flexibility of remote work following initial onsite training. The selected candidate will be required to spend 4 to 6 weeks onsite to learn departmental workflows, systems, and planning standards before transitioning to a primarily remote role.


Responsibilities
Develop and optimize radiation therapy treatment plans (IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, 3DCRT, electrons)
Collaborate with physicians and physicists to achieve high-quality plans
Participate in plan review, QA, and departmental workflows
Maintain accurate documentation in planning and record systems


Qualifications
Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
Experience with modern treatment planning systems (current platform: Aria/Eclipse v16.1)
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment


Work Model
Required: 4-6 weeks onsite for onboarding and training
After training: Primarily remote, with ongoing virtual collaboration and occasional onsite visits as needed
