What is remote closing?

A remote closing job involves handling the final steps of a sales process, typically in high-ticket sales, by communicating with potential clients and securing deals over the phone or via video calls. Remote closers work from home and follow a structured sales script to guide prospects through the purchasing decision. This role requires strong communication skills, persuasion techniques, and an understanding of the product or service being sold. Many remote closers work on commission-based pay structures, earning a percentage of each sale they close.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote closing?

To thrive in Remote Closing, you need strong sales acumen, persuasive communication abilities, and a track record of meeting or exceeding quotas, often supported by experience in remote or inside sales. Familiarity with CRM software, virtual meeting platforms, and digital contract management tools is typically required. Mastering these skills is essential for building rapport remotely, converting leads effectively, and achieving sales targets in a competitive virtual environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of their assigned territory while working closely with internal sales leadership and cross-functional teams. In addition to generating equipment sales, this individual will identify opportunities and provide qualified leads to internal Parts, Rentals, and Service departments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced B2B sales professional who enjoys working independently, building a territory, and spending significant time in the field.

ADVANTAGES

  • $50,000 - $70,000 base salary, depending on experience
  • 1% - 1.5% commission on eligible sales
  • Uncapped commission structure
  • Per diem and mileage reimbursement
  • Fully field-based role with territory ownership across Eastern and Northern Ontario
  • Company-provided phone and laptop
  • Ongoing support from experienced sales, logistics, and product teams
  • Opportunity to help develop and grow a strategic sales territory
  • Exposure to remote and underserved markets across Ontario
  • Opportunity to represent the organization at trade shows, industry events, customer meetings, and equipment demonstrations
  • Growth potential within a growing equipment sales organization

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively prospect and generate new equipment sales opportunities across Eastern Ontario, with a primary focus on the Ottawa region, as well as Northern Ontario.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective customers through outbound prospecting, relationship building, follow-up, and regular customer engagement.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and customer qualification through product presentations, negotiations, and closing.
  • Conduct on-site customer visits, meetings, equipment demonstrations, and other sales-related activities throughout the assigned territory.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the organization's equipment offerings, products, and overall customer value proposition.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers while identifying opportunities for long-term business growth.
  • Represent the organization at trade shows, industry events, networking opportunities, and other regional sales activities.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, sales activities, opportunities, and deal pipelines within the CRM system.
  • Identify and provide warm referrals and qualified leads to internal Parts, Rentals, and Service teams.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to define territory coverage, prioritize target markets, and establish clear territory ownership.
  • Collaborate with Logistics, Service, Finance, and other internal teams to support order fulfillment and a positive post-sale customer experience.
  • Communicate regularly with internal teams while independently managing day-to-day sales activities within the territory.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of B2B sales experience.
  • Previous experience in equipment, industrial, construction, or related technical sales environments is preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in outbound prospecting, business development, and closing sales opportunities.
  • Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage the full sales cycle while maintaining an organized pipeline and accurate CRM records.
  • Comfortable traveling frequently throughout Eastern and Northern Ontario.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal sales, logistics, service, finance, and leadership teams.
