The Post-Closing Document Review Specialist performs review of consumer and commercial loans. The position executes quality control activities and identifies trends to improve compliance and quality of loan closing and processing operations while demonstrating the Ameris Vision, Purpose, Expectations and Values. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
• Reviews closed loan packages and post-closing documentation for accuracy, sufficiency, completeness, compliance and proper execution according to bank policy and regulatory requirements.
• Identifies discrepancies and issues, facilitates resolution, and takes corrective actions.
• Collaborates with loan operations partners, third parties and attorney on outstanding ticklers.
• Monitors compliance and performance trends to identify and recommend areas of opportunity for training or process improvements.
• Prepares, maintains, and reviews documentation, records and data.
• Uses tickler system and software applications to track, monitor, update and maintain status and records.
• Maintains compliance with internal controls, operational procedures and risk management policies.
• Works to understand the root causes of complex customer service issues. Identifies and implements resolutions.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
• Advanced skills in Computer and Microsoft Office.
• Able to effectively and persuasively express self, using language and grammar in a professional manner.
• Able to plan, organize and prioritize tasks.
• Able to provide a high level of interactive service to others, building relationships and addressing identified needs.
• Able to analyze and record detailed information and produce accurate, high quality work products.
• Able to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw sound conclusions, and present findings.
• Thorough knowledge of financial covenants, business entities, standard and non-standard loan products.
• Thorough knowledge of loan compliance policy and closing processes.
• Able to manage and organize a high volume of documents.
• Able to read, analyze and interpret commercial loan documents.
• Able to perform accurate calculations and transactions.
Industry and Work Experience:
• 3 or more years of experience as a Loan Closing Coordinator, Loan Closing Specialist or equivalent role.
• Experience using relevant banking and document storage software applications.
• Banking compliance experience preferred.
Academic:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
