The serves as the clinical and scientific leader responsible for advancing the company's position as the trusted nutrition partner for healthcare Director of Nutrition Science & Clinical Education providers caring for patients with dysphagia, malnutrition, and other specialized nutrition needs.  This role bridges nutrition science, clinical practice, customer partnerships, and product innovation by working closely with healthcare providers, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), commercial teams, marketing, R&D, regulatory, and executive leadership. The Director will lead the development of evidence-based nutrition resources, feeding protocols, educational programs, and clinical guidance that improve patient outcomes while supporting business growth and product innovation. The ideal candidate combines deep clinical nutrition expertise with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence both healthcare professionals and internal cross-functional teams.


Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000 + bonus 

Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Location: Remote

Travel Requirements: 30-40 %


Requirements

Clinical Leadership

  • Serve as the company's clinical nutrition expert for dysphagia, texture-modified diets, malnutrition, oral nutritional supplementation, and enteral nutrition support. 
  • Monitor emerging clinical research, nutrition guidelines, and industry trends to ensure company recommendations remain evidence based. 
  • Develop and maintain clinical positioning for existing and future product portfolios. 
  • Support regulatory and medical review of nutrition-related claims and educational materials. 

Healthcare Partnerships

Lead development of educational resources including:

  • Continuing Education (CE) programs

Develop educational content that improves clinical outcomes while supporting appropriate product utilization.


Product Innovation

Partner closely with Marketing, Innovation, R&D, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to:

  • Identify unmet clinical needs. 
  • Translate customer insights into product innovation opportunities. 
  • Evaluate scientific support for new product concepts.      
  • Provide clinical guidance during product development.      
  • Support validation of product benefits. 
  • Assist with product launches through clinical messaging and education. 

Serve as the voice of the healthcare provider throughout the innovation process.

Customer Support

Provide clinical expertise to support:

  • National account presentations 
  • GPO negotiations 
  • Product evaluations 
  • Clinical conversions 
  • Customer implementation 
  • Product training 
  • Healthcare facility education 

Work alongside commercial teams to strengthen strategic customer relationships through scientific credibility and clinical partnership.


Thought Leadership

Help establish the company as a recognized leader in healthcare nutrition by:

  • Building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders 
  • Participating in advisory boards 
  • Publishing clinical resources 
  • Supporting research initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) 
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or related field 
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive clinical nutrition experience 
  • Experience working with dysphagia, long-term care, acute care, or clinical nutrition 
  • Strong understanding of IDDSI standards and texture-modified nutrition 
  • Experience developing professional education and training materials 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills 
  • Ability to travel approximately 30-40% 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nutrition or related healthcare field 
  • Board certification (CNSC, CSG, or specialty certification) 
  • Experience working with healthcare manufacturers or medical nutrition companies 
  • Established relationships within healthcare nutrition organizations 
  • Experience collaborating with GPOs or large health systems 
  • Publication, speaking, or research experience
