In your role as a Mental Health Counselor, your primary responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, incorporating factors such as medical history and current health status that impact emotional wellbeing.
• Developing and executing integrated treatment plans that consider both psychiatric and physiological factors affecting patients' lives.
• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions that are evidence-based and tailored to the specific needs of each patient, ensuring a supportive and constructive therapeutic environment.
• Collaborating regularly with a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
• Providing immediate crisis intervention to clients during mental health emergencies, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
• Delivering educational resources and guidance to patients about the interplay between their mental and physical health, fostering self-management skills.
• Maintaining thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring all patient information is secured.
• Participating in team meetings, case discussions, and interdisciplinary care planning sessions to share insights and enhance treatment approaches.
• Engaging in professional development activities by staying informed about the latest research, best practices, and advances in integrated mental health care.

Our clientele includes individuals grappling with a variety of challenges, particularly those with co-occurring disorders such as autoimmune diseases, substance use issues, and chronic pain. You will work closely with patients from diverse backgrounds, each facing unique circumstances that require personalized care. Your expertise will help empower these individuals to navigate their difficulties and improve their overall quality of life.

The ideal candidate will hold:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT within the state of Georgia.
• Demonstrated experience in assessing and treating clients with mental health needs, especially those with co-occurring medical conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective relationships with patients and colleagues.
• The ability to uphold professional boundaries and effectively maintain patient confidentiality while providing compassionate care.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology platforms.
• A collaborative mindset to work efficiently within an interdisciplinary team.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Experience in implementing evidence-based therapeutic modalities in individual and group settings.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and navigating remote client interactions.
• A background in working with diverse populations, particularly in outpatient settings.
