About the Organization

At Frontier Counseling Services, we are a reputable private psychotherapy practice located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Our commitment to ethical practices and delivering high-quality care is reflected in our approach to therapy. The supportive structure of our practice allows you to concentrate on client care while we take care of administrative tasks like billing, marketing, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating support groups or individual therapy sessions for clients facing terminal illness, grief, and loss.
  • Engaging in ongoing communication with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic client care that considers both psychological and emotional aspects of health.
  • Documenting client progress in a secure Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Providing crisis intervention as needed, ensuring that clients receive the timely support and resources essential for their well-being.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adult clients facing terminal illnesses and their families. Our clients may come from various cultural backgrounds, and we encourage sensitivity and awareness of their unique needs. The ideal candidate will be equipped to establish rapport with clients undergoing significant life changes and provide psychotherapy focused on coping strategies, emotional support, and practical resources related to their circumstances.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, with a specialization in mental health counseling preferred.

  • Minimum of three years post-licensure experience in clinical counseling, specifically in a social work or mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in therapeutic modalities such as CBT or Psychodynamic Therapy.
  • Strong competency in addressing the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as knowledge surrounding men’s mental health issues.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations, focusing on culturally responsive therapy.
  • Possession of professional malpractice insurance.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience or training in hospice care settings.
  • Familiarity with contemporary telehealth practices and techniques.
  • Experience in group therapy is a plus.
