Job description

Commercial Auto, PIP & General Liability Claims Examiner III

Location: 100% Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Claims Examiner to independently manage Commercial Auto, New York No-Fault/PIP, and General Liability claims from initial review through final resolution. This fully remote contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled claims professional who enjoys analyzing complex exposures, developing effective resolution strategies, and taking ownership of their files.

You will collaborate with legal counsel, investigators, vendors, and other stakeholders to achieve fair, efficient, and timely claim outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve Commercial Auto, PIP/No-Fault, and General Liability claims

  • Review policy language and determine coverage, liability, damages, and exposure

  • Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves

  • Develop settlement and litigation strategies

  • Negotiate settlements within assigned authority

  • Coordinate with outside counsel, investigators, experts, and vendors

  • Maintain accurate file documentation, activity notes, and claim diaries

  • Prepare detailed reports addressing coverage, liability, damages, and recommendations

  • Identify subrogation, contribution, and risk-transfer opportunities

  • Deliver responsive, professional service to internal and external stakeholders

Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of Commercial Auto, PIP/No-Fault, and General Liability claims experience

  • Must live in Texas

  • Must have a New York License

  • Strong knowledge of coverage analysis, liability evaluation, reserving, negotiation, and litigation management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines

  • Proficiency with claims-management systems and standard computer applications

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment

A bachelor’s degree, multi-jurisdictional claims experience, and experience handling complex or litigated claims are preferred.
