Job description

Job Description
This Hotel Van Driver position provides safe transportation to and from a hotel on a regular basis. Must have a valid Driver's License and three (3) year good driving record. This position will support the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge located in Bethel, AK.
This is a 4-week on & 4-week off rotational position. The point of hire origins are Anchorage, AK and the YKHC Service Area. Housing is provided including three meals daily.
Responsibilities
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
  • Ensure that all luggage is on board for all passengers.
  • Only the driver will load/unload luggage from the vehicle.
  • Repeatedly moves luggage or packages weighing at least 50 lbs.
  • Transports guest to and from the hotel and the airport, requesting specific information on each passenger's destinations.
  • Upon arrival at the hotel, refer passengers to the Front Desk for registration as driver unloads luggage.
  • Bring luggage into the lobby, bring to room if time permits.
  • Maintain vehicle mileage log at beginning and end of each trip indicating mileage, time, name and date.
  • Ensure the vehicle has at least 1/2 tank of gasoline at all times.
  • The associate daily checks all vital fluids such as oil, transmission fluid, brake, etc. in the assigned vehicle.
  • Exterior cleaning: weekly washing of vehicle (either by hand or at car wash) inclusive of all windows, white walls and door jams.
  • Waxing may be required once a month as decided by the assigned manager.
  • Interior cleaning: empty all ashtrays, pick up loose debris from floor.
  • Daily vacuum floors, clean windows, wipe seats, seat ledges and other surfaces as necessary.
  • Know all safety and vehicle regulations and emergency procedures and how to act upon them.
  • Ensures children are seated at all times and are supplied with a child safety seat.
  • Have knowledge of the hotel property, hotel staff, van service area, and hotel services with hours of operation.
  • Report all accidents and/or traffic violations immediately.
  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the associate handbook.
  • Wear the proper uniform at all times as specified by the Manager.
  • Other related duties may also be assigned.

Qualifications
  • Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under the NMS vehicle insurance policy (may be required at other locations).
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of customer service experience.
  • One (1) year of previous driving experience.
  • Contract requires candidate to get a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.
