Our online school, Ignite Christian Academy, is looking for qualified, passionate full-time and part-time teachers to join our team. Our Academy Teachers serve as teachers of record for home learners and are enabled to make a difference in the lives of students, holding them to high standards through an asynchronous, online environment and our biblically integrated curriculum. In this role, you will provide daily instructional support to students of diverse backgrounds.

Position Information: We offer regular, full-time and part-time positions, typically reporting to an Instructional Supervisor.

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $41,600 and $45,000 per year for full time and $20.00 and $21.63 for part-time. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Uphold the vision, mission, and statement of faith of Ignite Christian Academy, using them as guiding principles for teaching practice and interaction with students.
  • Exhibit Ignite Christian Academy's staff attributes: thrive together, embrace growth, foster faith, empower learning, cultivate character, establish trust, develop disciples, and strengthen partnerships.
  • Grade and provide comprehensive feedback to students in a timely manner and closely monitor student progress.
  • Respond promptly to questions or requests from students, partner schools, parents, and team members.
  • Be available for direct student phone calls.
  • Log all pertinent information/communication in the Student Information System.
  • Proactively contact the student and family if concerns arise.
  • Ensure that final grades are issued in a timely manner when a student completes a course.
  • Hold regularly scheduled appointment hours each day, Monday through Friday.
  • Follow and enforce all academic school policies.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, hardware, software, and/or educational training sessions as scheduled.
  • Report academic integrity, cyberbullying, or other behavior issues to the administration.
  • Report suspected child abuse, neglect, or self-harm concerns as mandated by law.
  • Maintain teacher certification, including any required professional development and paperwork required for on-time renewal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Share Your Expertise.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and an active teaching certification, or for those seeking a Bible Teacher position, an advanced degree in Biblical Studies, Theology, or related field can replace the active teaching certification requirement.
  • Experience with online instruction is desired.
  • Willingness to uphold the vision, mission, and statement of faith of Ignite Christian Academy, use them as guiding principles for teaching practice and interaction with students.
  • Superb time management and proactive communication skills
  • Reliable high-speed internet access and a personal computer to use that meets minimum technology requirements (Chromebook, iPad, or tablet device not permitted).
  • 40 hours of availability Monday through Friday for full time roles and 15-25 hours of availability Monday through Friday for part-time roles.
