Regional Sales Manager for a Material Processing Solutions Company

Treehouse Partners

Grand Rapids, MI • Remote

$100/hr

Full-time

Re-posted 28 days ago

Job description

Our client is a rollup of four established machinery brands that have united under one umbrella to provide end-to-end material processing solutions. They build equipment like conveyors, bulk bag fillers and unloaders, sifters, mixers, etc. that facilitate material processing — plus the control systems that run it all. They can sell a single machine, or design and integrate an entire processing line end to end. They are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive growth across a Midwest territory, selling directly to customers while leading a network of independent manufacturer's representatives. This is a high-autonomy commercial role for someone with strong technical aptitude who can guide customers on application fit and equipment capabilities, serving industries that include food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and chemicals.
This is a remote-eligible role based in the Michigan or Indiana area with approximately 50% travel throughout the territory
Responsibilities:

- Drive revenue growth and meet profitability targets across the assigned territory
- Cultivate relationships with customers, key accounts, and system integrators to expand the client's footprint in the region
- Lead and support a network of independent manufacturer's representatives, maintaining regular contact regarding quotes, open orders, and upcoming equipment needs
- Deliver product, application, and sales training to representative partners
- Evaluate representative performance against KPIs on an ongoing basis, developing improvement strategies and advising on whether to invest in or replace underperforming partners
- Identify underpenetrated markets within the territory and build target account lists to pursue them
- Lead presentations for customers and channel partners covering technical scope, pricing, commercial terms, and delivery timelines
- Advise customers on application suitability, technical capabilities, specifications, and potential design modifications
- Partner with internal teams to resolve aftermarket, warranty, and customer satisfaction issues
- Build annual sales plans and expense budgets for the territory
- Contribute to the development of promotions and marketing strategy
- Travel approximately 50% of the time for customer visits, representative support, and sales activity
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of sales experience in capital equipment, industrial machinery, or a related technical field; material handling or processing equipment background is a plus
- Experience managing independent manufacturer's representatives or other channel partners
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to speak credibly about equipment applications and specifications
- Demonstrated track record of growing a sales territory and hitting revenue targets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable in front of customers and partners alike
- Strong relationship-building instincts across customers, reps, and internal teams
- Self-directed, with sound independent commercial and technical judgment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM familiarity is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%
Compensation: Targeting a base salary of $100-120k, plus commission/bonus
