Job Summary The Cloud Integration Architect provides strategic and technical leadership to guide current and future customer plans related to cloud technologies. This role requires deep knowledge of emerging information technology trends, cloud modernization patterns, and enterprise-scale architecture practices. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud architecture solutions supporting both immediate mission needs and long-term cross-functional requirements across federal environments.
This position handles complex architectural challenges including scalability, high availability, redundancy, and multi-bureau expansion. The role also leads phased discovery and planning efforts, ensuring alignment with enterprise governance, data standards, and modernization roadmaps.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (as assigned)
Cloud Strategy & Leadership
  • Provides leadership and subject matter expertise on current and future customer cloud strategies, modernization plans, and enterprise technology direction.
  • Advises stakeholders on cloud trends, emerging technologies, and long-range IT architecture considerations.
  • Translates mission, business, and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable cloud architecture solutions.

Architecture Design & Implementation
  • Designs end-to-end cloud architectures encompassing software, hardware, networking, and communications layers.
  • Ensures architectures support total system requirements, including cross-functional interfaces, integration points, and future scalability.
  • Develops solutions that incorporate high availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Leads the design and implementation of cloud services, infrastructure patterns, and reusable architecture components.
  • Develops and maintains data dictionaries, metadata standards, and data classification models.
  • Leads cross-bureau expansion of cloud architecture solutions, ensuring interoperability, governance alignment, and consistent implementation across organizational boundaries.

Technical Governance & Integration
  • Ensures architectural compliance with federal security, data management, and cloud governance requirements.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to validate architecture decisions, integration patterns, and modernization roadmaps.
  • Provides technical oversight during implementation, ensuring solutions meet design intent and performance expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills
  • Experience in designing and implementing cloud architecture solutions (i.e. AWS, Azure, GCP) for information technology.
  • Knowledge of the future direction and trends associated with information technology.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud architecture solutions for enterprise information technology environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, infrastructure services, and modern application architectures.
  • Knowledge of emerging IT trends, cloud adoption patterns, and future-state technology planning.
  • Experience architecting for scalability, high availability, redundancy, and distributed systems.
  • Ability to lead discovery, planning, and classification activities in complex federal or multi-bureau environments.

Desired Skills
  • Experience supporting federal agencies or multi-bureau modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data dictionary development.
  • Experience leading phased modernization efforts, including discovery, planning, and cross-organization expansion.
  • Certifications in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) or enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, FEAF).

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, engineering, or a related field.

Additional Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Must be able to pass background screening prior to employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or U.S. work authorization with a minimum of three years of U.S. presence, as required for federal contracts.

Compensation: $140,000-$160,000/year (The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided and is determined based on job-related factors, including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions.)
