Overview
DecisionPoint seeks UI / Interaction Designers to develop intuitive, accessible, and mission-ready user interface designs for a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. These roles define page templates, component libraries, interaction patterns, checklists, forms, product catalog UI, and secure SSO user flows across enterprise applications.
The UI / Interaction Designers build rapid prototypes, iterate designs with UX researchers and stakeholders, translate user research insights into interface requirements, and ensure consistent adherence to design systems and accessibility standards.
These positions are fully remote.
Duties & Responsibilities
The UI / Interaction Designer will:
  • Develop page templates, interactive components, and reusable design patterns aligned with enterprise design systems.
  • Own and maintain component libraries, style guides, pattern libraries, and interaction specifications.
  • Design and refine user flows for secure SSO, onboarding, forms, checklists, product catalogs, and task workflows.
  • Build rapid prototypes, wireframes, and interactive mockups to validate concepts and collect stakeholder feedback.
  • Collaborate with UX researchers to translate behavioral insights and user findings into interface designs.
  • Conduct usability evaluations and iterate based on design principles, feedback, and accessibility requirements.
  • Ensure UI designs are consistent, responsive, accessible (Section 508 compliant), and aligned with branding.
  • Work with front-end developers to translate designs into functional components.
  • Document interaction rules, annotations, states, behaviors, and edge cases for developer consumption.
  • Participate in design reviews, working sessions, and sprint ceremonies.
  • Support continuous improvement of enterprise design systems and pattern libraries.

Qualifications
Clearance Requirement
Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher.
Education (Required)
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Media, Visual Communications, or a related discipline.
Experience (Required)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in UI design, interaction design, or digital product design.
  • Experience creating templates, component libraries, and interaction patterns.
  • Experience designing forms, workflows, user journeys, and secure login/SSO experiences.
  • Experience building prototypes and iterating based on usability and stakeholder feedback.

Technical Knowledge (Required)
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, or similar.
  • Understanding of responsive design, UI heuristics, and interaction design principles.
  • Familiarity with accessibility and Section 508 requirements.

Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
  • Experience with enterprise design systems or design ops.
  • Basic understanding of front-end implementation (HTML, CSS, JS).

Certifications
Preferred:
  • UX certification (Nielsen Norman, HFI, or similar)
  • Human-centered design or usability certifications
