• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to accurately identify clients’ mental health concerns.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that reflect the unique needs and circumstances of each client.
• Provide individual counseling sessions utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and skills training.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in mental health methodologies to enhance treatment effectiveness.
• Maintain detailed and accurate client records in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
• Engage in case consultations with colleagues to continuously improve treatment approaches and patient outcomes.
• Refer clients to additional mental health services or specialists as required, fostering a comprehensive support network.
• Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to promote a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

As a Mental Health Counselor at Gather and Grow, you will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals facing anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and other mental health challenges. Our patient-focused approach emphasizes respect, empathy, and collaboration, ensuring that each client feels heard and valued throughout their therapeutic journey.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• State-mandated licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York.
• Proven ability to establish rapport and trust with clients, facilitating open communication and effective therapy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear expression and documentation of clinical assessments and treatment plans.

• Experience in a clinical outpatient setting, providing individual therapy.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to efficiently manage client information.
• Background in specialized therapeutic practices or modalities, such as DBT, EMDR, or family counseling, is a plus.
