Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager (Indirect) to drive sourcing strategies that deliver measurable value across cost, quality, and supplier performance. In this fully remote role, you will lead end-to-end source-to-contract processes, manage complex spend categories (including but not limited to Operations, Logistics, Corporate Functions), and streamline operations to maximize efficiency.
You will play a key role in negotiating favorable agreements, strengthening supplier partnerships, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business needs. Beyond category management, you'll design and implement programs that enhance cross-departmental analytics, enabling smarter business decisions.
This role is a prominent component to advancing iHerb's mission of making health and wellness accessible worldwide. Core working hours are aligned to the Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone.
Job Expectations:
Sourcing Strategy
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple categories of goods and services.
  • Identify and implement sourcing approaches that deliver value, mitigate risk, and align with business objectives.

RFx Management
  • Design and manage RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs using sourcing platforms.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, facilitate supplier communications, and evaluate proposals with clear, data-driven insights.

Negotiations & Contracts
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead end-to-end negotiation processes.
  • Secure enterprise-wide agreements that optimize total cost of ownership while minimizing financial and operational risk.
  • Draft and negotiate key business terms (SOWs, SLAs, and commercial terms) in collaboration with Legal.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal business partners by aligning sourcing strategies with operational needs.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, presenting business cases and cost-benefit analyses that drive buy-in and adoption.

Market & Business Intelligence
  • Continuously monitor market trends, supplier innovations, and emerging opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of category benchmarks, market rates, and industry best practices through research, peer networks, and associations.

Spend & Data Analytics
  • Analyze large and complex spend datasets to uncover cost-saving opportunities and value drivers.
  • Support ongoing data enrichment to ensure accurate, actionable spend intelligence for decision-making.

Value Delivery & Savings
  • Quantify baseline costs, negotiation outcomes, and overall financial impact of sourcing activities.
  • Report and communicate measurable savings and process improvements.

Supplier Management
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate supplier relationships to ensure performance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee contract lifecycles, renewals, ensuring performance compliance to negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Lead periodic supplier reviews and resolve escalated issues collaboratively.

Agility & Process Excellence
  • Champion an agile sourcing approach to improve cycle times, simplify processes, and enhance speed-to-value.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver enterprise-wide initiatives that support cost savings, supplier innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a flexible sourcing leader who can manage a primary category while supporting high-impact projects across the organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
  • Demonstrated expertise in category management and developing comprehensive sourcing strategies.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels (prepare and present presentation materials).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task

Equipment Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (i.e. Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

Experience Requirements:
7+ years of progressive experience of corporate procurement/strategic sourcing with a proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and value. Must have strong category management knowledge, including but not limited to driving opportunity identification, spend analytics, sourcing strategy, project management, RFx processes, contract negotiation, supplier benchmarking, contract compliance, and procure-to-pay processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
  • Expert sourcing experience in indirect categories supporting IT, Legal, Finance, and Supply Chain (i.e. Technical spending, Data Center/Tech buildouts, SaaS products, Human Resources/Talent Acquisition)
  • Experience with procurement software tools and processes (i.e. Ariba Sourcing, Coupa, Workday Strategic Sourcing, etc.)
  • Technical Program Management and leading cross-functional, global teams
  • Analytics development and narrative storytelling

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Compensation:
The expected salary range for this role is 110,000-120,000 USD. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as the candidate's relevant experience, education, geographic location, and internal equity.
