About Nearmap

Property intelligence is reshaping how the world understands the built environment, and Nearmap is driving that. We put powerful aerial imagery, AI-driven analytics, and geospatial tools into the hands of the people who plan, build, insure, and govern the places we all live and work. Our technology turns property uncertainty into decisive action, and our culture brings out the best in the people who build it.
We move fast, we care about craft, and we're proud of what we're building. If you're energized by turning hard problems into real-world impact, we'd love to meet you.

Job Description

We're looking for a driven Business Development Representative to join our growing sales team. As a BDR, you'll be the engine that starts deals at Nearmap, prospecting hard through outbound lead generation and building meaningful relationships with potential clients. You'll work closely with your Account Executives partners and cross-functional partners across Marketing and Product to help launch deals that drive company growth.

If you're not afraid of the phone, energized by the challenge of cold outreach, coachable, and ready to back yourself in a role where your effort directly shapes your reward, this is the role for you. For the right person, the path to Account Executive is clear, real, and earned here.

What you'll do

  • Execute high-volume outbound prospecting campaigns through phone, email, and social channels to identify and engage qualified prospects

  • Research target accounts and decision-makers to develop personalized outreach strategies

  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads through discovery conversations and pass opportunities to Account Executives

  • Maintain detailed, organized records of prospect interactions and pipeline activity in the CRM

  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Marketing, and Product teams to align on messaging, target accounts, and campaign strategy

  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly activity and pipeline generation targets while maintaining quality standards

  • Analyze prospecting data and feedback to continuously refine your approach and improve conversion rates

  • Participate in ongoing coaching and training to develop your sales skills and advance your career trajectory

  • Provide feedback on market conditions, prospect pain points, and competitive insights to inform broader business strategy

  • Work inside a tight vertical squad alongside AEs, CSMs, Marketing, and Product Marketing

Qualifications
  • Quota-carrying outbound experience. Proven success as a BDR or SDR, with a track record of building your own pipeline through cold outreach, not managing or converting inbound leads

  • Numbers you can speak to. You know your quota and your attainment against it, meetings booked, opportunities sourced, percentage to target, and can walk through them in detail

  • Comfort at volume. You've operated in a high-activity outbound environment (maybe add % ratio) and don't slow down at that pace

  • CRM and sales-engagement fluency. Hands-on experience with Salesforce, a sales-engagement or cadence tool (e.g. Gong Engage, Salesloft, or Outreach), and a prospecting data tool (e.g. ZoomInfo or equivalent)

  • Sharp written communication. Since a large share of prospecting happens over email, your writing needs to be clear, professional, and error-free

  • A full ramp on your resume. At least one role where you completed ramp and hit target; steady tenure matters more to us than a string of short stints

  • Education. Associate's degree, or equivalent experience demonstrated through continuing education, professional certifications, or a consistent track record of self-directed learning

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the discipline to own your numbers every day

  • A coachable mindset, genuine openness to feedback, and a commitment to continuous improvement

  • Competitive drive paired with a collaborative spirit- you're a team player who celebrates collective wins

  • Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced sales environment

  • Strong research and analytical skills to identify prospects and develop targeted outreach

Preferred

  • Experience in SaaS or subscription-based sales models

  • Demonstrated aptitude for technology and comfort learning new software platforms

  • Experience working in a vertical sales structure or with specialized market segments
