Job Brief
The Operations Business Applications Support works within the Business Applications Team. The individual in this role is responsible for supporting and creating test cases, performing BAT (Business Acceptance Testing).

This is a remote position based near Avenel, NJ (EWR) or Whittier, CA (LAX).
JOB SUMMARY:
The Operations Business Applications Support works within the Business Applications Team. The individual in this role is responsible for supporting and creating test cases, performing BAT (Business Acceptance Testing) in a lab environment as well as in the field, documenting the results of the testing, aligning with the IT teams to resolve the defects found, documenting training documents, training users, and performing other tasks as required by the business. The individual in this role is responsible for understanding the business logic, to successfully articulate Application user story/defect details and descriptions. The individual in this role will be responsible for communicating Application changes to the business owners. This role will mainly support the Operations Applications but may support other areas as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Understand and communicate business impacts related to user stories and defects.
  • Develop testing scripts/test cases/user stories.
  • Set-up and coordinate 'live' testing of functional modules in the field.
  • Coordinate, support deployments remotely and hands on with the DCs upon roll out of new functionalities.
  • Conduct production issue research.
  • Understand the Business impact related to what is being tested and/or deployed into production.
  • Conduct regular Business Acceptance Testing.
  • Document testing results/defects in Jira or the software development tracking tool used.
  • Manage Jira epics, user stories and defects assigned per sprint.
  • Manage active knowledge base in OneNote for supporting testing/training efforts.
  • Develop workflows for existing and future processes.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs and non-functional requirements.
  • Use standards & methodologies for technical system documentation according to company standards.
  • Develop workflows for existing and future processes.
  • Recommend system designs/enhancements to improve functionality or user experience.
  • Develop training material if required.
  • Assist applications system support team and operations teams as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, or information technology or equivalent related work experience required.
  • 1 to 2 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SQL Developer required.
  • Knowledge of software testing principles methodologies, tools, and processes is required.
  • Experience in Development and Testing cycles for Operation systems preferred.
  • Technical and IT background preferred.
  • Shipping and Logistics Industry knowledge preferred.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
  • Excellent organizational, communication, strong written and verbal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills are a must. Adapting well to change is a must.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multi-projects simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated.

  • Physical demands are consistent with a professional office setting.
  • Regular sitting at workstation for 25 - 75% of the work shift.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Travel required (up to 15%)

Annual Salary of $67,200 - $75,600. This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include but are not limited to your specific skills, your work location, how many years of experience you have, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
