As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate client needs and formulate individualized treatment plans that address specific goals.
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy for individuals, couples, and families.
• Leading psychoeducational and support groups designed to address prevalent mental health issues, providing clients with a collaborative space for healing.
• Collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other clinical staff to deliver holistic care that meets clients' psychological and emotional needs.
• Providing crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
• Educating clients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to empower them in their recovery journey.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential client records in compliance with all legal and ethical standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Staying informed of the latest research and best practices in mental health therapy and actively participating in professional training opportunities.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia.
• A strong understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and effective therapeutic approaches.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans based on clinical best practices.
• Experience providing individual and group therapy to various populations with diverse needs.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster trust and rapport with clients.
• Strong ethical standards, sound judgment, and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
• Capacity to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting, effectively contributing to client care coordination.

We prefer candidates who have:

• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in a mental health setting.
• Experience in crisis intervention and dealing with acute mental health situations.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote patient care.
