Summary of Position: DeVoe School of Business, Technology, and Leadership is seeking experienced Adjunct Faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate applied A.I. courses in an online, asynchronous format. Additional opportunities exist to teach international student courses in a hybrid format, which includes online coursework and a two-day in-person session located in Merrillville, IN or Dallas, TX.
We are seeking faculty with a Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related course work and recent experience in applied A.I. and data analytics. Applicants with a Master's degree and 5+ years of applied A.I. and/or analytics experience will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform instruction related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college.
  • Employ a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, encourage active learning in all students, maintain proper class related records, promptly assess student coursework, and apprise students of progress.
  • Articulate, current within his or her discipline, and demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning with related professional experience.
  • Incorporate Biblical principles into the content area
  • Communicate with all IWU constituents in a professional and academic manner. - (Essential)

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
  • Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related field. Or a Doctorate at 18 graduate hours in the field. Applicants with a Master's degree and 5+ years of applied A.I. and/or analytics experience will be considered.

Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in A.I., data science, and/or the integration of emerging technology into the business environment. This may include cross-disciplinary experience into technology application in particular fields such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, business, and education.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Applicants with at least five years of relevant work experience in Data Analytics/Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence,
  • Information Technology are invited to apply. Teaching experience in cross-cultural settings preferred (not required)
