This position is funded for 12 months; continuation past 12 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

POSITION SPECIFICS

The Athletic Analytics Specialist supports the success of a high-performance collegiate athletic program by delivering advanced data analysis, strategic insights, and operational support; is responsible for evaluating athlete, team, and opponent performance; collaborates closely with coaching staff to develop data-informed strategies, scouting materials, and performance reports that enhance competitive outcomes.

  • Analyze practices, game performance, and opponent tendencies to deliver actionable insights that inform coaching strategies, game planning, and in-competition adjustments

  • Prepare, review, and interpret individual athlete, unit, and team performance data using advanced analytics tools and video analysis platforms

  • Generate detailed scouting reports, playbooks, call sheets, schemes, and scripts for coaches

  • Develop preliminary scouting reports and strategic schemes in advance of practices and competitions

  • Create and deliver self-scout reports to evaluate team tendencies, strengths, and areas for improvement

  • Perform quality control duties, including charting plays and statistics, maintaining depth charts, and evaluating game film, in collaboration with the coaching staff

  • Coordinate the collection, integration, and distribution of data, ensuring timely access for coaches and staff

  • Support the coaching staff by preparing, organizing, and maintaining materials essential to the successful operation of the program

  • Identify trends and performance indicators through statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and video breakdown

  • Coordinate meetings between the program, external consulting partners, student-athletes, and families to support informed decision-making processes

  • Oversee relationships with external stakeholders, including agent consultants, ensuring student-athletes receive appropriate guidance during the agent selection process

  • Facilitate communication and logistics between coaching staff, analytics providers, and program leadership

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all performance data, reports, and analytics systems

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $34,800.00 - $50,500.00.
