Position Overview:

As the Customer Quality Technical Project Lead,  you are a key member of the North & Central America (NCA) Quality Customer Technical Services (CTS) team, reporting to a Senior Manager, Quality CTS.   You will contribute to the success of Ball by serving as the central liaison for projects between customers, CTS, manufacturing sites, and internal stakeholders.

  You will coordinate and execute customer-focused technical and quality-related projects through alignment of cross-functional teams, managing timelines and ensuring the successful delivery of initiatives that support Ball’s customers and quality objectives.

 

Your Key Areas of Responsibility Include:

  • Project Coordination & Planning: Plan, coordinate, and track Customer Technical Service (CTS)-related projects, including new product launches, technical improvements, and customer initiatives to ensure milestones, deliverables, and timelines are achieved.
  • Customer Project Liaison:  Serve as a primary coordination contact for customers on assigned projects; maintain communication, provide status updates, and ensure alignment on scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Filling Line & Field Trial Coordination: Organize and support filling line trials and field testing at customer sites, including logistics, data collection, and follow-up reporting.
  • Issue & Risk Management: Track project risks, quality concerns, and customer issues; coordinate resolution efforts across Ball plants and internal teams to ensure timely closure.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Facilitate collaboration across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to drive project success and consistent execution.
  • Project Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project plans, timelines, action logs, and performance metrics; provide regular reporting on project progress and outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement Support: Support continuous improvement initiatives by tracking action plans, assisting with root cause follow-up, and ensuring implementation of improvements.
  • Customer Site Engagement & Audits: Participate in customer visits (20% travel) to support audits, project execution, and relationship development while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Standardization & Best Practices: Capture lessons learned and coordinate sharing of best practices across customers and Ball facilities to drive standardization and efficiency.
  • Quality System Support: Assist in coordinating quality-related projects, audits, and initiatives that support the CTS function and Ball’s overall quality management system.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Project Management, or other related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a roles in  project coordination, quality, technical support,  operations/production/manufacturing roles.
  • Experienced in cross-functional team collaboration in a manufacturing or customer-facing environment.
  • Organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills:
    • Strong project organization and coordination skill with baseline knowledge of project management methodologies, principles and tools.
    • Efficient, concise communication and stakeholder management.
    • Problem-solving and decision-making capability.
    • Facilitation and collaboration  in a matrixed environment.
    • Quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Data tracking and reporting tools

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Beverage packaging process knowledge/experience highly preferred or other relevant packaging.

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Expected Hiring Salary Range:  $75,400 - $105,290 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)  
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

  • This position is eligible to be REMOTE in the U.S., with a home base within a 50-mile radius of a major airport, due to travel (up to 20%) requirements.
