AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in central North Carolina. The Senior Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for all sales and agency management related activity within the assigned geographical territory. This position will work under the leadership of the Regional Vice President of Sales and in partnership with underwriting, safety, marketing and other AMERISAFE departments to achieve the stated sales and production goals.

Qualifications
  • 5 years of insurance sales experience
  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of the commercial insurance industry and strong knowledge of agency/wholesaler mechanics
  • Ability to manage a remote territory working with limited direction
  • Dedicated problem solver with the ability to own an issue or request and collaborate with others to ensure satisfactory resolution
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and mindset
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, exhibit team spirit and enthusiasm, and establish trust and credibility
  • Business acumen to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and represent the Company professionally

Responsibilities
  • Develop an annual territory plan that aligns with the regional and company growth and profitability goals
  • Weekly agency visits with occasional overnight travel including travel to trade shows, conventions, and internal meetings
  • Completes annual agency business plans with appropriate action items to ensure company objectives are achieved
  • Oversee the development and management of partnerships within the designated agency plant regarding company products and drive submission activity and profitable premium growth
  • Develop key partnerships with independent agencies to increase the success of the carrier – agency relationship
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to deliver an exemplary customer experience
  • Responsible for managing assigned agencies and the prospecting of potential new agency partners
  • Keep our team informed of industry trends through contact with independent agents and interactions at insurance industry meetings and conventions
  • Timely completion of administrative duties such as weekly call and expense reports
  • Assists in special assignments and projects at the request of Amerisafe leadership
  • Coaching and mentoring of less experienced sales team members
  • Foster the AMERISAFE culture by embracing the pillars of consistency, focus, frugality, ownership and service.
