What is a remote back office?

A Remote Back Office job involves performing administrative, data management, and support tasks for a company from a remote location. Responsibilities may include data entry, processing transactions, managing documents, and assisting with customer or internal inquiries. These roles help ensure smooth business operations without direct customer interaction. Remote Back Office employees use digital tools to collaborate with teams and complete tasks efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote back office position?

To thrive as a Remote Back Office professional, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in administrative tasks, often supported by a relevant degree or experience in business administration. Familiarity with office software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and cloud-based CRM or data management systems is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities help set individuals apart in this position. These skills ensure efficient, accurate support of business operations, enabling smooth workflow and effective collaboration across remote teams.

What are the main challenges faced by remote back office professionals and how can they be managed?

Remote Back Office professionals often face challenges such as managing multiple priorities, staying organized without in-person supervision, and maintaining efficient communication with cross-functional teams. To manage these, it's important to establish clear routines, leverage productivity and collaboration tools, and keep open lines of virtual communication. Many find that proactively setting daily goals and maintaining regular check-ins with supervisors and teammates helps them stay focused and aligned with company objectives. Adapting to varied time zones and working independently builds resilience and flexibility, valuable traits in today’s distributed work environments.

Resolver operates as a hybrid workforce with the option to work at home, in the office, or a mix of both.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we're looking for a Research Analyst to join our collaborative & fun Marketing team. The Research Analyst will provide data and insight that drives and enables optimal sales and marketing performance.

Did we mention you'll also be part of an amazing team? We have a collaborative full-scope marketing team who are committed to helping organizations protect what matters.

About Resolver:

Resolver is a high-growth SaaS company who's intuitive, no-code platform gives our customers a clear picture of their risks so they can make quick and effective decisions. As a part of the Resolver team, your work will help transform risk management to risk intelligence so organizations can protect people and assets and deliver on their purpose.

We are ambitious in both our mission and our culture. As a business within Kroll, we offer an innovative, non-hierarchical work environment blended with the stability and financial security of an enterprise. Resolver has also been named one of Canada's Great Places to Work eight years in a row!

What you'll be doing:

Insight Generation (70%)

Measures of Success: Deliver actionable market, buyer, competitor, and emerging trend insights that directly influence product strategy, messaging, or GTM decisions, with at least 3-5 documented instances of business impact annually. Maintain a proactive cadence of research and trend monitoring, ensuring stakeholders consistently leverage insights for decision-making.

  • Conduct primary and secondary market research across industries, buyers, competitors, and emerging trends.
  • Develop actionable insights from customer interviews, analyst reports, competitive intelligence, win/loss data, and internal product usage.
  • Produce market, competitor, and buyer insight reports that influence product strategy, messaging, segmentation, and go-to-market decisions.
  • Identify emerging security, risk, compliance, and AI trends relevant to enterprise customers.

Education & Enablement (30%)

Measures of Success: Develop and deliver clear, actionable enablement materials and presentations that are regularly adopted by Product Marketing, Sales, and Executive teams, with stakeholder feedback demonstrating improved decision-making and execution.

  • Translate research findings into clear presentations, battlecards, briefs, and enablement content.
  • Support Product Marketing, Sales, and Executive teams with evidence-based recommendations.
  • Present insights to cross-functional stakeholders and help teams incorporate findings into planning and execution.

What you will bring:

  • 3+ Years Experience in Product/Market Research
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or analytics
  • Experience with B2B SaaS is valued
  • Experience using AI-assisted research tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini) to accelerate research workflows.
  • Experience with competitive intelligence, analyst research (e.g., Gartner, Forrester), and voice-of-customer research.
  • Strong analytical skills with Excel/Sheets and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) considered an asset.

What we'll give you in return:

  • Health and Wellness Benefits: 100% paid by us for health and dental from day one. And our vision care is every 12 months! We also offer a wellness/fitness reimbursement, that can go towards things like gym memberships, yoga classes, soccer membership fees or a bike.
  • Professional development: we have an external learning budget to help you grow and develop. We host a learning workshop about every 6 weeks on topics like Time Management, Self-Awareness, and Giving Feedback; we also have e-learning to meet the needs of our remote team. We offer a Career Development Program to help you identify and build your skillsets for internal growth opportunities and beyond. We also have a Coaching Program for all our managers. We know how important it is to have a good boss, so we invest in their development.
  • Vacation: it's open, which means we don't have to worry about an accrual clock. On average, we see most folks enjoying between 3-4 weeks off a year.
  • Parental leave: best-in-class-top-up for new parents -- 100% for 15 weeks for new parents and 5 additional weeks of pregnancy leave for birth mothers.
  • Flexibility & trust: we hire adults and we trust you to manage your outcomes. Day-to-day, everyone is given the option to decide whether they want to work remote or in-office depending on the needs of their role and in ways that best promote collaboration with your team.
  • Back in the Office: you will have access to snacks and beverages and in-office fun like ping pong, group lunches, karaoke & games. We provide lots of opportunity for team socials too, including the folks who are remote!
  • The salary range for this role $80,000-100,000.
