The Opportunity:
Serve as a network expert on a Cloud Infrastructure Team for the Dept. of the Air Force that is responsible for configuring and running the network for an Azure Cloud deployment that utilizes Azure Firewalls, CheckPoint gateways, and F5 appliances to handle all traffic ingressing and egressing the environment. The environment is actively growing and evolving to include IPv6 implementation utilizing zero trust principles within an IL5 environment. Projects within Azure involve new integrations, evolving processes, documentation, and providing support to EITaaS service delivery to DAF in a reliable manner. This team and processes support not only the internal EITaaS team, but also the Dept. of the Air Force.
You will work with your team to understand and execute the requirements, priorities, and objectives to not only ensure a stable network for the EITaaS cloud environment but also work to evolve the network to handle new capabilities. This includes participation in strategizing, planning, designing, deploying, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting the evolving network environment. Your combined network and Azure experience in supporting complex and custom deployments, plus your troubleshooting and scripting skills are critical for success.
You will participate in the full life cycle of activities while ensuring product success follows all established processes and standards, including DoD and DAF policies. Your understanding of secure best practices to include STIG based implementations within network components and how to implement a secure Azure PaaS/IaaS environment are standard capabilities in this role. Flexibility and adaptability are ways of life here on the EITaaS team, so if you are comfortable breaking out of the mold and have a passion for learning new technologies, while applying your existing experience, then this position may be exactly what you are looking for.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supporting the existing network as well as architecting, planning, and implementing additions/improvements to ensure the security, stability, and growth of the EITaaS Azure network.
  • Provide solid network engineering and administration support of a blended Azure and Check Point based implementation and integrations with clear understanding of both Check Point's CLI and Gaia interfaces as well as the Azure Portal, Azure CLI, and Azure PowerShell modules as it relates to all things networking in Azure.
  • Help support drafting and maintaining documentation for the EITaaS Cloud environment, such as network diagrams, assessments, implementation plans, and design documents.
  • Successfully deploy and implement new solutions within an Azure environment such as dual stack within Azure, DNS64 integration via F5 appliances, and NAT64 via CheckPoint gateways.
  • Provide network engineering support such as management of ACLs, network designs, IPv4/IPv6, and BGP analysis for both the internal EITaaS team and external DAF entities.
  • Support DevOps engineering projects such as network design and implementations for AKS.
  • Ensure network traffic only ingresses and egresses via approved communication paths.
  • This position requires multiple years of relevant experience. It is expected that you: work with minimal supervision independently or with a team, are a self-starter and capable of defining and managing your individual tasks and have strong communication skills for partnering and communicating across internal teams to maximize efficiency and success of assigned tasks.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • IAT Level II certification
  • 15+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor's Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).
