You should pursue coursework and training that grants skills and experience with specific scripting language types, such as Ruby, Shell, Python, and Perl. Knowledge of monitoring tools, coding, and similar technology skills can also be helpful. For some positions, having a related certification may help you to stand out above the other applicants for a specific job.

What are some common challenges faced by remote AWS engineers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote AWS engineers often encounter challenges such as maintaining clear communication with geographically dispersed teams and managing cloud infrastructure securely from afar. To address these issues, it's important to use collaboration tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams, adhere to robust version control and documentation practices, and follow AWS security best practices such as using IAM roles and multi-factor authentication. Regular virtual meetings and clear project management protocols also help ensure everyone stays aligned and productive.

What are Remote AWS jobs?

Remote AWS jobs are positions that involve working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technologies while allowing employees to work from a location outside a traditional office environment. Professionals in these roles may be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure, building scalable applications, or maintaining cloud security, all through AWS. Remote AWS jobs are common in roles like cloud engineer, solutions architect, DevOps engineer, and cloud consultant, and require strong knowledge of AWS services, tools, and best practices. These positions are popular due to the flexibility of remote work and the growing demand for cloud computing expertise.

Job Objective

As a Solutions Architect – Migration and Modernization at Cloudelligent, you will take end-to-end ownership of designing, selling, and delivering secure, compliant, and scalable AWS solutions. You will lead architecture design, support presales engagements, and implement AWS Control Tower–based landing zones while driving complex cloud migration and modernization initiatives for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and operate multi-account AWS environments using AWS Control Tower, AWS Organizations, Landing Zones, IAM, and Service Control Policies (SCPs).

  • Own cloud migration initiatives from discovery and assessment through execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.

  • Hands-on implementation of secure, compliant, and well-architected AWS solutions aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework and regulatory requirements.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and/or AWS CDK to automate provisioning and governance.

  • Implement identity, security, and access management solutions using IAM, AWS SSO, encryption, and security monitoring services.

  • Design and deploy containerized and modern application platforms using Docker, ECS, EKS, and Kubernetes.

  • Build and integrate CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows to support scalable and repeatable cloud deployments.

  • Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure operational excellence and security visibility.

  • Conduct AWS Well-Architected Framework Reviews (WAFR) and lead remediation efforts.

  • Advise customers on cloud governance, compliance, and security best practices.

  • Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives using AWS cost management tools and FinOps best practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS architectures in customer-facing roles.

  • Strong expertise with AWS Control Tower, AWS Organizations, Landing Zones, IAM, and Service Control Policies (SCPs).

  • Proven experience leading cloud migration and modernization projects.

  • Advanced experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

  • Strong understanding of AWS security, compliance, monitoring, and operational best practices.

  • Experience supporting presales activities including solution design, technical presentations, and client workshops.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a delivery-focused mindset.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Associate.

  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty.

  • Background working in an AWS Partner or consulting environment.
