Meet the Teamย 

Theย Health andย Diagnostics Team at Torcย is responsible forย developing critical diagnostics software that ensures the safety, serviceability, and performance of our autonomous vehicle platforms. As a member of this team,ย you'llย work on next-generation automotive diagnostic solutions that interface with electronic control units (ECUs), enabling both in-vehicle and remote fault detection, data logging, and recovery strategies.ย 

Whatย You'llย Doย ย 

  • Design, implement, andย maintainย diagnostic software and communication stacks based on automotive protocols including UDS (ISO 14229), SOVD, and CAN (ISO 11898).ย 
  • Develop diagnostic services supporting fault memory, DTCs, routine control, and data identifiers using UDS over CAN andย DoIP.ย 
  • Implement andย validateย service-oriented architectures (SOA) using technologies like SOME/IP, SOVD, and Ethernet.ย 
  • Support integration and debugging ofย diagnosticsย features on benches and test vehicles.ย 
  • Work cross-functionally with cloud and edge-based systems to enable remote diagnosticsย andย telemetryย capabilities.ย 
  • Contribute to the development of robust error handling, logging, and recovery mechanisms for ECUs and vehicle systems.ย 

Whatย You'llย Need to Succeedย 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 5-7+ years of experience (or aย Master's Degreeย with 3-5+ years of experience).ย 
  • Provenย expertiseย in C++ for algorithm development, system design, and high-performance tooling.ย 
  • Experience developing embedded orย diagnosticsย software in the automotive industry.ย 
  • Experience with vehicle communication stacks (e.g.DoIP, Ethernet) and knowledge on sensor connectivity using RS232 and/or GMSLย 
  • Strong debugging and validation skills in an automotive environment.ย 
  • Understanding ofย automotive cybersecurity principles and secure communication protocols.ย 

Bonus Points!ย ย 

  • Hands on experience implementing Service oriented vehicleย diagnostics(SOVD)ย using REST API protocolย 
  • ROS2 development experienceย 
  • Knowledge of cloud-integrated vehicle health monitoring and predictive maintenance systems.ย 
  • Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools (e.g.,ย Bazel).ย 
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 and development of ASIL-compliant systems.ย
