Position Summary & Responsibilities

Are you a seasoned Banner professional with a passion for solving complex technical challenges in higher education?

This is a remote position, and we welcome applicants seeking either full-time or 1099 work. Some travel is required. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with functional stakeholders and IT teams to support, maintain, and enhance Ellucian Banner environments—ensuring systems run smoothly, integrate seamlessly, and evolve to meet the dynamic needs of colleges and universities.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience within the Higher Education sector
  • Expertise in Banner technologies and strong proficiency in PL/SQL
  • Experience coding in at least one language: Java, JavaScript, Groovy/Grails
  • Familiarity with database and IDE tools such as SQL Developer, Toad, Eclipse, or IntelliJ
  • Experience with web technologies including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and RESTful Web Services
  • Proficiency in version control software like Git
  • Ability to self-manage, handle multiple projects, and problem-solve efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and travel as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Banner Extensibility tools and the Ellucian Ethos Platform
  • Demonstrated experience in data migration
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Insights and Experience (a big plus)
  • Proven ability to integrate third-party applications with Banner
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions using Banner Workflow
  • Knowledge of implementing and supporting Banner Document Management or other imaging systems
  • Experience supporting Degree Works
  • Familiarity with automating batch processes using Automic Applications Manager or similar software
