• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the nature and extent of mood disorder symptoms in clients, considering factors such as intensity, frequency, and duration.
• Collaborate with clients to design and implement individualized treatment plans that align with their unique needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate client growth and healing.
• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care practices to enhance overall understanding and engagement in the therapeutic process.
• Monitor client progress regularly, assessing treatment effectiveness and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required.
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and holistic care for clients.
• Stay informed of the latest research and advancements in mood disorder therapies to ensure effective treatment strategies are employed.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with best practices.
• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development initiatives to enhance clinical skills and teamwork.
• Advocate for clients’ needs and mental health awareness, combating stigma and promoting a more understanding and supportive community.

The ideal candidate will work closely with a diverse array of clients suffering from mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You may also engage with populations facing unique challenges, such as individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse survivors, or refugees. Your work will not only focus on providing therapy but also include community engagement and support for clients navigating complex life situations.

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that foster a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
• A strong sense of empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental approach to clients’ experiences and struggles.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to balance client casework effectively.
