My client located in Florida is in need of a Controller. This is a direct hire opportunity. Eligible candidates can live anywhere on the East Coast or Mid-West portions of the U.S.

Controller Role

Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, operational, and administrative functions for the firm

Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense allocations, management fee calculations, and financial reconciliations

Monitor daily trading activity, allocations, and reconciliations

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages

Develop budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting as requested by leadership

Coordinate with custodians, banks, auditors, tax advisors, compliance consultants, and other third-party service providers

Lead preparation and coordination of SEC regulatory filings including Form ADV, Form PF, Form 13F, and other required disclosures

Oversee investor reporting and performance reporting activities

Manage payroll processing, vendor payments, insurance renewals, and business licensing requirements

Coordinate annual tax filings and support external CPA relationships

Oversee employee benefits administration, including retirement and healthcare programs

Manage new account openings, asset transfers, and custodial relationships with Fidelity and other financial institutions

Serve as the primary liaison for GIPS verification activities and annual audits

Maintain and update company databases, website information, performance reporting, and marketing materials

Ensure all marketing and communications materials remain compliant with applicable regulatory requirements

Support technology vendors and coordinate information technology related requests

Identify process improvements, operational efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities

Serve as a trusted business partner to executive leadership on accounting, compliance, operational, and strategic initiatives

Assist with special projects and contribute wherever needed to support the success of the organization

Controller Background Profile

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

5+ years of accounting experience within investment management, asset management, wealth management, family office, hedge fund, or related financial services environments

Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Fund Accountant, Investment Accountant, or similar experience

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

QuickBooks experience required

Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting

Knowledge of SEC reporting requirements and compliance processes preferred

Experience with Advent Black Diamond or similar portfolio management systems preferred

Familiarity with Fidelity Wealthscape or similar custodial platforms preferred

Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with leadership and external partners
