Functional Area:  Contracts/Legal; Audit/Risk/Compliance
Employment Type:  Full-Time
Work Options:  Remote / Work from Home in Wisconsin #LI-Remote
Work Hours:  Standard Business Hours

Position Summary

J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Contracts Administrator to play a key role connecting the sales organization, legal, and customer relationships. In this role, you will serve as a critical bridge between internal teams and external partners, structuring agreements that advance business objectives while protecting the companyโ€™s interests.

This position may be filled at either the Contracts Administrator or Sr. Contracts Administrator level, depending on experience and demonstrated capabilities. At the senior level, the role assumes responsibility for the most complex and high-impact agreements, operating with greater independence and strategic influence across the business.

This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented, solutions-driven professional to make a direct impact on revenue generation, customer experience, and operational efficiency. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy balancing business strategy with analytical thinking, this role offers strong visibility, influence, and the chance to continuously enhance contracting processes at scale.

Job Responsibilities

Contract Drafting & Redlining

  • Draft, review, and recommend changes for sales and vendor agreements including master service agreements (MSAs), statements of work (SOWs), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), order forms, and amendments.
  • Prepare initial contract positions and respond to counterparty redlines in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and continuously improve standard contract templates, playbooks, and fallback positions.
  • Ensure agreements reflect current company policies and approved commercial terms.

Negotiation & Deal Support

  • Lead or support negotiations on commercial terms directly with customers, partners, and vendors.
  • Partner closely with sales representatives to understand deal context, customer priorities, and competitive dynamics.
  • Balance legal risk mitigation with business objectives, escalating non-standard positions appropriately.

Contract Administration & Lifecycle Management

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date contract repository.
  • Triage contract requests from internal customers

Issue Resolution & Problem Solving

  • Proactively identify and resolve contract disputes, discrepancies, and ambiguities โ€” both pre- and post-execution.
  • Serve as a resource for interpreting contract terms and advising on obligations, rights, and risks.
  • Facilitate resolution of customer escalations involving contractual disputes or fulfillment disagreements.
  • Identify recurring contractual issues and recommend systemic process improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work alongside the Associate General Counsel and other legal team members on ad hoc commercial contracting initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across the business, delivering clear, pragmatic guidance that enables progress while managing risk.
  • Partner with product, engineering, delivery, and other teams to ensure contractual commitments are realistic, aligned with capabilities, and accurately documented.

Additional Responsibilities for a Sr. Contracts Administrator

  • Create contracts (not starting with an existing agreement)
  • Review Master Service Agreements
Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial contract setting, legal operations, or a related role, with a focus on sales or revenue-generating agreements.
    • May consider an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts independently.
  • Working knowledge of contract law principles and commercial terms (e.g., limitation of liability, indemnification, IP ownership, payment terms, termination rights).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain legal concepts clearly across the business.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) as they apply to commercial agreements is a plus.

Internal J. J. Keller experience requirements may vary from those for external candidates, with consideration given to demonstrated performance, institutional knowledge, and career progression within the organization.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time.
