Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Asset Accountant with strong expertise in fixed asset accounting and handsโ€‘on involvement in PowerPlan implementation, configuration, or optimization. This role supports the full lifecycle of capital asset accounting, including reporting, analysis, and compliance, while partnering with crossโ€‘functional teams to ensure accurate and timely asset management.

Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential extension based on performance and business needs | W2

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze capital expenditures and ensure proper capitalization of assets.
  • Analyze asset trends, depreciation impacts, and capital spending forecasts.
  • Support monthโ€‘end and yearโ€‘end close activities related to asset accounting.
  • Prepare financial schedules and reporting related to capital assets and depreciation.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for fixed asset and capital accounts.
  • Develop and maintain PowerPlan workflows, reporting, and configuration documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Participate in PowerPlan implementations, upgrades, conversions, and system enhancements.
  • Partner with project managers, operations, engineering, and finance leadership on capital project accounting.
  • Fixed asset accounting including asset additions, retirements, transfers, depreciation, and capital project tracking.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 6+ years of fixed asset or capital accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, depreciation methods, and capitalization policies.
  • Handsโ€‘on experience with PowerPlan implementation, configuration, upgrades, or optimization.
