Job description

Sartorius has a remote-based position for a Field Application Specialist - Lab Water / Liquid Handling. In this field-based role, you will offer product expertise, application knowledge, and support for Account Managers and customers along each stage of the sales process through product demonstrations and trials, presentations, and trainings that directly drive revenue and product adoption within the territory. The ideal candidate will reside in either Philadelphia, P.A., Newark, N.J. Baltimore, M.D. or Washington, D.C.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Support the sales organization of existing products through product presentations, demonstrations, and application studies, and on new products in close collaboration with product management through beta sites testing and demonstrations.
  • Be responsible for the assigned product line to support sales target achievement in the Central Region.
  • Support sales in the customer process and URS analysis and generate application trials to help design optimized products in line with the application requirements.
  • Provide application support proactively, answer inquiries and resolve implementation problems in the field for customers!
  • Support quality department in the quality complaint process by troubleshooting and analyzing customers processes for better investigation and resolution.
  • Collect, compile, verify and analyze data on the assigned product line performance and customer feedback to identify product features that need to be changed to meet customer needs!
  • Report on competitors' products and feedback information to the application specialist management and products management
  • Provide basic product training to internal sales and dealers and running external customer workshops and seminars.
  • Conduct trials and demos to achieve intended results and create trial reports for product management and sales teams.
  • Collaborate with interfaces to define the scope and acceptance criteria of trials and build professional trial reports!
  • Able to travel >50% overnight as this role is heavily focused on external customers.
  • Ideal candidate will reside in either Philadelphia, P.A., Newark, N.J. Baltimore, M.D. or Washington, D.C.

What will convince us:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, application support, or pre-sales experience in a scientific or technical environment
  • Proven experience in a similar position and industry is advantageous
  • Familiar with related products, laboratory processes, and equipment
  • Strong learning ability, and expert knowledge base in this area
  • Ability to effectively interface with product / project / division management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong customer orientation

Base salary range: $85,000-$110,000(depending on experience, skill set, education, and location), plus a sales incentive plan and car allowance.
