Role Overview

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer to manage the full systems life cycle for enterprise environments using the Appian Low-Code platform. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mission-critical SaaS applications while providing technical leadership and systems integration support.


Location: Must reside within 200 miles of the work site.

Qualifications & Requirements (MUST HAVE)

  • Certifications: Appian Senior or Associate Developer certification is MANDATORY.
  • Database Expertise: Strong RDBMS experience required. Must be proficient in MySQL, MariaDB, or Oracle, with specific skills in schema modification, record management, and query optimization.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years in software engineering and systems development.
    • 35 years of dedicated experience in Appian enterprise environments.
    • 5 years of experience utilizing Agile methodologies and JIRA.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related IT field (or 1215+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance is a plus; must possess or be eligible for Public Trust.

Core Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Appian Development: Design and maintain applications on the Appian platform, including debugging complex Interfaces and Process Models.
  • Systems Integration: Integrate Appian solutions with enterprise systems and develop specialized web APIs.
  • Technical Management: Conduct systems analysis, architecture design, and quality assurance while overseeing project schedules and budgets.
  • Testing & Monitoring: Develop test automation suites and perform continuous performance monitoring to ensure system stability.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide technical estimations against business requirements and proactively research best practices for continuous improvement.

Key Competencies

  • Technical Problem-Solving: Mapping business needs to Appian capabilities and troubleshooting complex code issues.
  • System Architecture: Designing scalable, secure, and high-performing architectures.
  • Data Integrity: Ensuring software security, data privacy, and optimized database performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise-level Appian implementations and SaaS solutions.
  • Advanced certifications, such as Appian Lead Developer.
  • Prior experience supporting DoD or federal agency environments.
