Job description

Where technology meets benefits - and the client experience gets better because of it.

Who We Are

Austin Benefits Group is a forward-thinking employee benefits firm that serves private and publicly traded companies with responsive, tech-enabled solutions. We're investing heavily in digital infrastructure - and the Digital Benefits Platform Engineer sits at the center of that evolution.

If you've got benefits administration experience and a passion for optimizing systems, building integrations, and making technology work harder for clients - we built this role for you.

The Opportunity

You'll own the digital layer of our client benefit experience: configuring and maintaining benefit websites, building payroll and carrier API integrations, and creating communications that help employees actually understand and appreciate their benefits. This is a technical, client-facing role with broad ownership and real visibility.

What You'll Do

  • Configure and maintain client benefit websites - benefit plan details, costs, documents, notifications, and videos
  • Build and manage payroll integrations with platforms like Paylocity, ADP, and Paycor
  • Establish and maintain carrier API integrations, updating configurations at each client renewal
  • Develop and update the Austin internal system for each client through their renewal cycle
  • Create modern, clear employee communications that simplify onboarding and offboarding
  • Prepare paper enrollment documentation for clients not yet on online platforms
  • Conduct system audits to verify calculations match carrier contract provisions and resolve discrepancies
  • Oversee changes and updates within client online enrollment platforms, identifying challenges proactively
  • Follow and maintain the Austin Navigator renewal process for all applicable clients
  • Collaborate with Client Experience and Analytics teams and maintain strong vendor relationships

What You Bring

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills - you spot discrepancies before they become problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; 2+ years in a benefits admin role accepted in lieu of degree

Why Austin Benefits Group?

Tech-Forward Firm

We're investing in digital infrastructure and you'll help shape how it grows.

Cross-Team Collaboration

You'll work alongside Client Experience, Analytics, and carrier partners.

Competitive Salary

A strong base that reflects your experience and the value you bring to the team.

Unmatched Employee Benefits

Best-in-class health, dental, and vision coverage with high employer contributions. We don't just sell great benefits - we live them.

Generous 401(k) Match

An extremely competitive employer match so you can build real long-term wealth, not just a paycheck.

Summer Fridays

Early dismissal on Fridays during summer months. You've earned it.

Work from home every Friday, year-round. We trust you to get the job done.

Competitive PTO

A generous paid time off policy that lets you actually recharge - not just accrue days you never use.

Paid Holidays

A robust holiday schedule so you can be present for the moments that matter most.

Volunteer Time Off

We're proud community advocates. Paid volunteer time off so you can give back to the causes you care about.

Sponsored education, industry seminars, and ongoing training to keep your career moving forward.
