This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures.
Job Purpose and Impact
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team of dairy nutritionists in the Western Ohio/Eastern Indiana market. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of hands-on dairy management experience and technical proficiency. The Dairy Focus Support will participate in the day to day support to our new and existing dairy customers. We seek a results-oriented professional who, with guidance, will help assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and solutions.
Key Accountabilities
  • Contribute to on-farm cow management and forage evaluations by supporting body condition and lameness scoring, conducting walk-throughs, health observations, and providing input on TMR mixing and management practices.
  • Help identify herd-level opportunities through forage sampling, TMR shaker box, particle scoring, and manure screening, building trusted relationships with farmers to support performance improvements and long-term engagement.
  • With basic knowledge of dairy production, cow health, nutrition, and available tools, support and stimulate adoption of recommended practices using dairy-specific software such as Dairy Comp, TMR Tracker, CRM systems, and proprietary ration balancing programs.
  • Plan daily activities, including farm visits, travel across the assigned market, and qualitative and quantitative objectives related to herd evaluations, documentation, and follow-up actions.
  • Follow herd performance trends, forage quality, and field observations, communicating findings and competitive or market insights clearly and timely to senior staff and internal teams.
  • Handle basic on-farm observations, data entry, and documentation under direct supervision, while escalating more complex herd, nutrition, or health issues to appropriate technical staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to travel daily to customer farms, with over-night travel 3-5 days per month .
  • Able to travel a 90% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Located in or willing to relocate to the Sidney, OH or Fort Wayne, IN market
  • Prior experience in dairy nutrition or farm management
