Position Overview
The Team Lead (Analytics) will collaborate with customers and staff to define product requirements, build a deep understanding of analytics products, and communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences to deliver impactful solutions. Using Lean-Agile principles, this role is responsible for analytics product development, addressing client needs, and driving outcomes by delivering value through scalable, customer-centered systems.
In this position, the lead will apply policy research, data analysis, visualization, and statistical methods to advise clients on project and product design. Responsibilities include conducting studies, interpreting data, and preparing reports using established research principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. This individual is expected to demonstrate ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness in the application and advancement of sophisticated health services research methods.
Working closely with an Agile team, the lead will clarify technical requirements and mentor data analysts and junior staff in developing analytics products that integrate seamlessly into a high-quality decision-support platform. The role requires independent judgment to identify, expose, and resolve issues related to the development and implementation of research studies and analytic products. In addition, the individual will serve as a consultant to management, contributing to long-range planning and identifying new or emerging areas for research innovation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex analytics initiatives by planning and executing advanced, analytics-focused technical projects; developing sound experimental and scientific study designs; and overseeing high-quality data analysis and reporting outputs.
  • Own and manage analytics product lifecycles by maintaining and prioritizing product backlogs across multiple analytics products, defining product vision, roadmaps, MVPs, and requirements, and incorporating stakeholder and customer feedback to drive value-based outcomes.
  • Translate product vision into delivered solutions by clearly communicating requirements to developers, testers, and stakeholders; guiding implementation; and demonstrating product functionality to ensure alignment with business and scientific objectives.
  • Produce and communicate high-quality analytical deliverables by preparing, reviewing, and approving complex reports, presentation materials, and draft manuscripts, and translating complex analytical findings for client, management, and scientific audiences through written and oral communications.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor and collaborator by interfacing with client's subject matter experts, data analysts, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution, while providing expert guidance to management on technical and analytical considerations.
  • Develop team capability and technical rigor by training and mentoring junior staff in advanced data interpretation, ensuring research methods and technical procedures are current and valid, and serving as a technical resource across the organization.
  • Manage direct reports and perform supervisory duties to include review and approval of time and work performed, monitor work performance and escalate issues to senior management, help establish individual goals, and encourage career growth.

  • U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States and able to demonstrate physical residency in the U.S. for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years.
  • Bachelor's degree with eight (8) or more years of experience including four (4) or more years of experience supporting federal and state health agencies conducting health services research using Medicaid claims and CHIP data is required.
  • Experience conducting complex data analysis, use of visualization techniques to support data driven decision making for effective program administration, policy making, and program oversight with overall improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams of technical and non-technical resources within an Agile project framework to deliver analytics products that support scientific decision-making.
  • Willingness and ability to assume cross-functional responsibilities as needed to ensure continuity of business operations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Prior experience with federal clients such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services offering proactive solutions to enable changes to policy and health outcomes is preferred.
