Remote Analytical Writing information

What is remote analytical writing?

Remote analytical writing is a professional role where individuals analyze data or information and communicate their findings through written reports, essays, or articles, all while working from a location outside of a traditional office. This job often involves researching complex topics, interpreting data, and presenting clear, logical arguments or insights. Remote analytical writers may work in various fields such as business, science, technology, or academia, and rely on digital communication tools to collaborate with clients or teams. The flexibility of remote work allows these professionals to operate from anywhere with an internet connection.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote analytical writer?

To thrive as a Remote Analytical Writer, you need excellent research, critical thinking, and written communication skills, often supported by a degree in English, journalism, or a related field. Familiarity with data analysis tools, citation management software, and proficiency in word processing systems like Microsoft Word or Google Docs are typically required. Strong time management, self-motivation, and attention to detail are essential soft skills for remote work environments. These skills and qualities ensure that analytical writing is accurate, well-supported, and delivered efficiently to meet client or organizational needs.

What are some common challenges faced by remote analytical writers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote analytical writers often encounter challenges such as managing time effectively without direct supervision, maintaining clear communication with team members, and accessing necessary data or resources remotely. To address these, it's helpful to establish a structured daily routine, make use of collaboration tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams, and schedule regular check-ins with colleagues or supervisors. Additionally, proactively seeking feedback and clarifying project expectations can help remote analytical writers deliver high-quality work while staying aligned with team objectives.

Job description

As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn't changed - we're here to stop breaches, and we've redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We're proud to work for a mission-driven company leveraging AI to transform the way we work. CrowdStrikers drive their careers through flexibility and autonomy while also being expected to contribute to a culture of responsible AI adoption, experimentation, and innovation. We use an AI-first mindset as a force multiplier to proactively and continuously accelerate execution, build expertise, uncover insights, and solve complex problems. We're always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.
About the Role:
CrowdStrike Intelligence, a core component of CrowdStrike Counter Adversary Operations, is seeking a Senior Content Writer I for its Global Threat Analysis Cell (GTAC) to support the creation and development of finished intelligence reporting. This position centers on original analysis, data-driven storytelling, and finished intelligence production. This Senior Content Writer I will be required to transform complex quantitative and qualitative intelligence data into clear, compelling narratives for CrowdStrike customers and stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
  • Synthesize complex information from sources - including raw intrusion data, internal data sets, and finished intelligence reporting - into clear, compelling narratives tailored to a range of audiences, including executive stakeholders and technical defenders
  • Produce periodic intelligence reporting products on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedule, as well as contribute to two annual Counter Adversary Operations flagship products
  • Identify and analyze trends and patterns across finished intelligence reporting and raw data sets, applying an analytical mindset to surface the most meaningful insights
  • Produce statistics and data summaries that identify and demonstrate adversarial trends, paired with clear written supporting analysis
  • Collaborate across CrowdStrike Counter Adversary Operations' teams to gather trend and statistical insights, leveraging the subject matter expertise of intelligence analysts to ensure accuracy and depth in written products
  • Proactively manage workload and deadlines with a degree of autonomy, while exercising sound judgment about when to engage a manager or teammate to ensure quality before final production
  • Contribute to the team's evolving use of AI-assisted analysis and writing workflows, helping to shape and improve best practices for AI-enhanced intelligence production

What You'll Need:
  • 2+ years of experience in a threat intelligence, cybersecurity, or related analytical writing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze both quantitative data sets and qualitative reporting, identifying meaningful trends and translating findings into clear written products
  • Strong original writing skills - the ability to produce polished, audience-appropriate content from source material, not simply refine existing drafts
  • Comfortable working with a degree of autonomy while exercising sound judgment about when to loop in a manager or teammate before issues escalate
  • Enthusiasm for working with AI writing and analysis tools, with an interest in helping develop team-wide best practices
  • Collaborative by nature, with the ability to work across multiple teams and leverage subject matter expertise of colleagues
  • Good time management skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as needed to necessary product deadlines
  • Basic understanding of technical and cyber security terminology
  • Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Bonus Points:
  • Experience writing for executive audiences
  • Deep familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, threat intelligence frameworks, or adversary tracking
  • Experience working with data visualization or statistical summaries to support written narratives

Education:
  • Undergraduate degree, military training, or relevant experience in writing and/or content writing with a preferable focus in cyber intelligence, communications, data science/statistics, general intelligence studies, security studies, political science, international relations, etc.

Location:
  • Remote, with occasional travel.
