Summary:
Energy Transfer is looking for a Contract Analyst to join our Crude Accounting team in Houston, Texas. We foster a culture of curiosity-encouraging our team to ask "why," transform data into actionable insights, and embrace technology to streamline and strengthen our processes.

The Contract Analyst supports the Crude Marketing and Trading functions in the full contract lifecycle, from preparation and review of contracts and amendments through execution and on-going tracking of obligations. The essential duties of this position are designed to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of the full contract lifecycle, to prevent disputes, and to support contractual compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Draft contracts outside the pre-approved templates, coordinating closely with Legal and Commercial teams to ensure timely and accurate finalization
  • Serve as a liaison between Commercial, Legal, and Accounting to clarify contract terms, obligations, and interpretive requirements
  • Analyze contract obligations to identify responsible stakeholders (people, teams, or processes), and establish effective tracking and alignment to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Prepare, review, and amend contracts using approved templates, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal policies and legal standards
  • Manage the trade confirmation process, ensuring alignment on commercial terms, drafting contracts as needed, and resolving discrepancies timely and proactively
  • Maintain a comprehensive and well-organized electronic contract database to support accessibility, auditability, and reporting
  • Independently identify, investigate, and resolve contract related issues in a timely manner
  • Stay current on procedures, systems, and industry developments, providing recommendations to management for operational improvements
  • Support system enhancements, upgrades, and user acceptance testing for CLM, ETRM, and related platforms

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience: 5-8 years' experience
  • Required Skills: Proficiency in Word required
  • Technical Skills: Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system experience required; Rightangle, SAP, and/or Salesforce is a plus

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a bachelor's degree or 2-5 years of relevant job-related experience
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a bachelor's degree or5-8 years of relevant job-related experience
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job-related experience

 Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in Oil & Gas preferred
