Logistics Process Improvement Analyst
Remote United States
Travel 25- 40 percent
A growing transformation and consulting organization is seeking an experienced Logistics Process Improvement Analyst to support operational excellence initiatives across multiple transportation and logistics environments.
This role is ideal for someone who combines real world freight forwarding knowledge with strong business analysis, process mapping, workshop facilitation, and continuous improvement expertise. You will work directly with operational and commercial teams to understand current workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and help shape future state operating models.
This is a highly visible role that offers significant stakeholder interaction, travel, and the opportunity to influence large scale operational transformation initiatives.
What You Will Do
• Lead discovery sessions and workshops with operations, transportation, logistics, and commercial teams
• Document current state processes across freight forwarding and international transportation workflows
• Facilitate value stream mapping and process mapping exercises
• Identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, delays, rework, and improvement opportunities
• Develop process maps, SIPOC diagrams, workflow documentation, and operational assessments
• Analyze operational metrics including cycle times, throughput, productivity, quality, and customer experience
• Partner with business leaders and process owners to develop practical improvement recommendations
• Present findings, business cases, and transformation recommendations to management teams
• Support implementation and tracking of operational improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with cross functional teams across operations, technology, finance, and commercial functions

Required Experience
• Five or more years of experience in business analysis, operations improvement, process excellence, or consulting
• Direct experience within freight forwarding, international transportation, contract logistics, customs operations, or global supply chain environments
• Experience leading process discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops
• Hands on value stream mapping and process mapping experience
• Knowledge of ocean freight, air freight, documentation, customs, brokerage, shipment execution, and billing processes
• Experience using Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or similar process documentation tools
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication abilities
Preferred Experience
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
• Continuous improvement or operational excellence programs
• Global trade and transportation operations
• Consulting or transformation project experience
• Exposure to logistics technology platforms and transportation management systems
