RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking an Art Director to join for an approximate 5-month project! While this is a remote position, RUN Studios can only consider candidates currently residing in the following states at this time: CA, CO, FL, ID, MI, NJ, NY, OR, TX, WA.
The Art Director will contribute to an exciting, relative newcomer to the online footwear scene. The website was launched 2 years ago and is off to a strong start. Our selection, user experience, and service level are second to none in the industry. We offer over 700 brands of footwear, handbags, and accessories for women, men, and kids all with free overnight shipping and free return shipping. The list of brands offered includes Giuseppe Zanotti, LAMB, MARC by Marc Jacobs, Puma, adidas, Dolce Vita and many others. The business is ever-evolving - we just launched sunglasses!
Our team is seeking a seasonal graphic design professional with creative management experience and a passion for shoes. If you love thinking conceptually, creating original solutions, and would like to collaborate with brilliant creatives in a fast-paced online fashion industry environment, then this role is for you.
As an Art Director, You Will:
  • Manage creative for website and online advertising (e.g. email and display ads).
  • Plan project timelines and budgets and allocate appropriate creative resources to projects.
  • Contribute to the planning and design of compelling new site content and user experiences.
  • Manage occasional print, packaging, and environmental (e.g. gift wrap, holiday look and feel) creative projects.
  • Assign projects to team of graphic designers, site merchandisers and photographers, reviewing and refining image selections, design concepts, copy, and promotional and editorial campaign components prior to publishing.
  • Communicate with creative and retail team members to ensure merchandising plans are in line with business needs and have adequate in-stock levels.
  • Analyze and respond to promotion performance data, steering the strategy of the future creative decisions.
  • Be the internal champion and keeper of the brand.
  • Follow market trends and apply a keen understanding of the contemporary footwear marketplace to make decisions that will maximize effectiveness of creative materials.

As an Applicant, You Bring:
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Portfolio demonstrating high level of design talent and typographic skill.
  • Bachelor's degree in Visual Communications/Advertising/Graphic Design or commensurate experience.
  • Proven ability to apply logic, reason, and expertise to identify strengths and weaknesses of creative design solutions and to provide clear direction.
  • Ability to effectively steer general creative direction without micromanaging or over-guiding design, writing, photography and merchandising team members.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to efficiently solve complex logistical problems pertaining to design layout and ease of Web navigation.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, HTML, and Microsoft Office

Compensation
Pay Range: $55.00 - $68.25 (Hourly)
The successful candidate's pay will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.
Benefits:
Benefits and perks may vary depending on location and nature of the work, but eligible employees have access to medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D benefits, health savings and flexible spending accounts, other telehealth and wellness benefits, a minimum of seven paid holidays per year, accrual of at least 6.5 days (Temporary Employment) to at least 15 days (Regular Employment) of paid time off per year, a 401k plan with company match, discretionary bonuses dependent on company, team or individual performance, and referral bonuses for eligible hired referrals.
