Discovery Cove Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic telehealth team. This position operates within a fully remote telehealth setting, allowing for flexible engagement with patients from the comfort of their own homes. Our work culture emphasizes teamwork, communication, and continuous learning. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate our patients' schedules.

• Conduct thorough initial assessments to evaluate the needs, challenges, and goals of patients embarking on substance use disorder treatment.
• Develop tailored treatment plans incorporating evidence-based interventions that align with each patient's recovery journey.
• Deliver individual counseling sessions, employing techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral strategies to foster engagement and progress.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions designed to encourage peer support and shared recovery experiences, enhancing motivation and accountability.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and addiction specialists, to ensure an integrated treatment approach.
• Provide crisis intervention support and guidance during substance-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and effective response strategies.
• Educate patients and their families on addiction, recovery resources, and coping strategies to empower them throughout their healing process.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage patient information.
• Participate in team meetings and case consultations to promote shared learning and enhance treatment delivery.
• Stay informed of the latest advancements and best practices in substance use disorder treatment, applying new knowledge to improve care.

You will primarily work with individuals battling substance use disorders, including adults with varying backgrounds and experiences. Many patients may have co-occurring mental health issues, necessitating a comprehensive and empathetic approach to their treatment. Our goal is to create a safe space for clients where they can openly discuss their struggles and work towards recovery in a supportive environment.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active licensure in the state of Washington as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW.
• Proficiency in evidence-based treatment strategies and a robust understanding of substance use disorders.
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy focused on addiction treatment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathy and a non-judgmental attitude.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital communication tools.
• The ability to thrive in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.

• A minimum of one year of relevant experience in the field of mental health or addiction counseling.
• Demonstrated success in developing treatment plans and facilitating therapy sessions.
• Previous experience in a telehealth role is a plus, though not mandatory.

The salary range for this position is between USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a sign-on bonus to qualified candidates.
