Job description

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Atlanta, Georgia. This opportunity is primarily remote, with occasional in-office attendance once or twice each month for collaboration and financial review activities. The person in this role will contribute to close processes, reconciliations, financial analysis, and post-event reporting while helping maintain accurate and timely records.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and help drive an organized and timely month-end close process.
• Review post-event financial information, assemble supporting documentation, and evaluate results to determine overall profit or loss performance.
• Partner with production managers and internal stakeholders to gather accounting data and ensure reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on schedule.
• Maintain detailed reconciliations across multiple accounts, research variances, and resolve discrepancies to preserve ledger integrity.
• Examine financial activity for compliance with accounting policies and accepted standards, escalating issues when needed.
• Provide quality oversight on accounting work completed by other team members and offer guidance to less experienced staff when questions arise.
• Use enterprise accounting platforms and advanced spreadsheet functions to manage reporting, organize data, and improve efficiency in recurring tasks.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, with stronger consideration for candidates who have worked in event, entertainment, or production-focused environments.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud is required.
• Strong working knowledge of month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large data sets and build efficient reconciliation schedules.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP is beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, investigate issues thoroughly, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
