Job Description:The Senior Accountant reports directly to the CFO and manages core accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance support, and system enhancements in support of a growing mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:Accounting & Bookkeeping- Manage day-to-day accounting operations in QuickBooks Online, including general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support transition from QuickBooks to a future ERP system.
Financial Reporting- Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual reports.
- Develop dashboards, board reports, and financial analyses.
- Coordinate annual audit preparation and support external auditors.
Budgeting & Planning- Lead development of the annual organizational budget.
- Monitor and analyze budget variances throughout the year.
Compliance & Investor Reporting- Prepare investor compliance reports and ensure accurate submissions.
- Support regulatory and CDFI-related compliance requirements.
- Maintain strong documentation standards and internal controls.
Systems & Reporting- Utilize advanced Excel skills to develop financial models and analysis tools.
- Maintain data integrity and improve reporting processes.
- Support ERP implementation and system migration initiatives.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong experience in nonprofit or financial services accounting preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills required.
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and audit support.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and internal controls.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven environment.
