What does a remote account manager do?

A remote account manager oversees client relationships for a brand, production company, or advertising agency. In this virtual position, you may work from home and use a phone, video conferencing, chat, or text to perform your duties. Job description

Who We Are
Akkadian Labs is a Collaboration Lifecycle Automation Platform that services some of the largest global enterprises and government agencies. Our platform reduces manual work by up to 90% and costs by as much as 50%, while improving accuracy and governance across leading Unified Communications platforms.
This ability to innovate at scale defines who we are: big enough to compete at the highest level, yet agile enough to stay ahead of a rapidly evolving market. Our culture is people-first, fully remote, and rooted in grit, clarity, trust, and respect, because when our people thrive, so do our customers.
Who You Are
We are hiring an Account Manager to lead retention, renewal, and expansion efforts across an assigned book of business. This is a quota-carrying role for someone who stays closely connected to customers year-round, builds momentum through proactive outreach, and turns account insight into growth opportunities.
The Account Manager serves as a primary relationship owner for their portfolio, helping customers realize ongoing value from the platform while identifying opportunities to deepen adoption, expand usage, and strengthen long-term partnerships. This role also works closely with systems integrators, channel partners, and reseller partners to support joint opportunities and deliver a cohesive customer experience.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of customer accounts, managing day-to-day relationships and handling escalations with support as needed
  • Maintain a consistent cadence of outreach throughout the year to strengthen relationships, reinforce value, and stay ahead of renewal risk
  • Own subscription renewals across the assigned book of business, driving retention and contributing to overall revenue goals
  • Identify and advance expansion opportunities within existing accounts, including upsell, cross-sell, and pricing motions
  • Educate customers on platform value, functionality, and new features so they can maximize adoption and business impact
  • Recognize signs of under-utilization or account risk early and step in with recommendations, training, or resources before issues escalate
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews with selected customers to demonstrate value, review progress, and uncover growth opportunities
  • Maintain disciplined weekly forecasting in HubSpot for renewal and expansion opportunities, applying the MEDPICC framework to qualify and stage deals consistently
  • Partner with systems integrators, channel partners, and reseller partners to align on account strategy, support technical discussions, and present a unified value proposition
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Support teams to deliver a consistent customer experience and identify opportunities across the customer lifecycle
  • Use account data and analytics to identify trends, surface risks, and prioritize actions that support retention and growth
  • Travel to support customer relationship-building and key account engagements as needed

Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in software sales, specifically account management
  • Experience managing a book of business with quota and revenue responsibility
  • Demonstrated success with renewals and driving expansion revenue
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM platform
  • Experience in unified communications or collaboration platforms, or selling adjacent technologies is strongly preferred
  • Experience managing enterprise, government, healthcare, or finance accounts
  • Familiarity with MEDICC, MEDPICC, or a similar qualification framework
  • Ability to travel for customer meetings as needed
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships and maintain active engagement across a portfolio of accounts
  • Confidence leading renewal and expansion conversations and moving opportunities forward with urgency
  • Strong communication skills across customer-facing, partner-facing, and internal interactions
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with multiple active priorities and revenue goals
  • Ability to translate product capabilities into practical customer value and business outcomes
  • Sound judgment in identifying account health signals, addressing objections, and responding proactively to risk
  • Discipline in forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM hygiene, with strong attention to opportunity status and next steps
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partner networks

Benefits
We offer a fully remote environment, plus a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, company-paid life insurance and disability policies, 401(k) with a generous matching program, and paid time off.
