What is a remote account coordinator?

Remote Account Coordinators are professionals who manage client accounts and relationships from a remote location, typically working online rather than in a traditional office. They serve as the main point of contact between clients and their company, ensuring that clients' needs are met and that projects run smoothly. Their responsibilities often include communicating with clients, coordinating with internal teams, tracking project progress, resolving issues, and maintaining records. The remote aspect allows them to perform these duties from anywhere with a reliable internet connection, offering flexibility for both the employee and the employer.

How does a remote account coordinator typically collaborate with sales and client service teams while working offsite?

As a Remote Account Coordinator, you’ll regularly interact with both sales and client service teams through virtual meetings, emails, and collaborative platforms like Slack or Microsoft Teams. Maintaining clear communication is essential to ensure that client needs are met and project milestones are achieved on schedule. You may coordinate campaign deliverables, relay client feedback, and help resolve issues, relying on strong organizational skills and proactive follow-up. While remote, you’ll likely attend regular video check-ins and share progress updates to stay aligned with your team’s goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote account coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Account Coordinator, you need strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and experience in customer service or account management, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with CRM software, project management tools, and proficiency in virtual communication platforms is typically required. Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and self-motivation are standout soft skills in this remote role. These competencies ensure effective client support, smooth project execution, and seamless collaboration across distributed teams.

Job description

Account Coordinator
Remote, United States | Full-Time | non-exempt | Reports to SVP, Client Success
About Us
Simplifying out-of-home (OOH), that is what working at ODN is all about. As one of the fastest-growing OOH media placement firms in the country, ODN partners with agencies and advertisers to deliver strategic, high-impact campaigns.
Our highly collaborative team works closely with OOH vendors across North America to secure the best placements and competitive rates for our clients. From Outdoor Advertising and Experiential Marketing to DOT and large-format printing, ODN provides end-to-end solutions that bring brands to life in the real world.
About the Role
The Account Coordinator plays an important role in supporting the Client Success team and ensuring campaigns move smoothly from proposal through post-campaign reporting. This position serves as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, helping coordinate campaign logistics, project tracking, data entry, quality control, billing support, and client-ready deliverables.
This role is ideal for someone with approximately 1 to 3 years of relevant experience who is highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and interested in building hands-on experience in advertising, client services, campaign management, and out-of-home media within a fast-paced, collaborative remote environment.
As Outdoor Nation continues to grow, this role will offer opportunities to collaborate across departments, support a focused group of accounts, and take on expanded responsibilities over time.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Coordinate campaign execution support, including specs, artwork orders, timelines, and launch readiness.
  • Collect, organize, and review Proof of Performance materials and assist with client-ready recap decks.
  • Maintain accurate campaign, proposal, project, and client details in CRM and internal tracking systems.
  • Support RFPs, proposals, market research, reporting, presentations, and client communications.
  • Assist with billing and reconciliation by gathering campaign documentation, billing schedules, and pre-bill details.
  • Communicate professionally with internal teams, clients, vendors, and external partners to help resolve questions and keep work moving.
  • Participate in cross-training, team initiatives, and process improvements as ODN continues to grow.
What You'll Need to Be Successful
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and details accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a friendly, client-first, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced remote team environment.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new systems, processes, and responsibilities as the company grows.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in account coordination, client services, or a related role; media or advertising agency experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with project management, media planning, or analytics tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
Remote Work amp; Physical Requirements
This role operates in a fully remote work environment. Employees are expected to maintain a dedicated and professional workspace that is suitable for productive work and regular virtual collaboration.
  • Sit or stand at a computer workstation for extended periods.
  • Use standard home office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, and printer.
  • Communicate effectively via phone, email, and video conferencing tools.
  • Occasionally lift and carry items up to 15 pounds, such as a laptop, files, or office supplies, if needed for remote work setup or company-provided equipment.
  • Minimal travel is expected. Occasional travel may occur for team meetings, training, company events, or the annual company retreat.
What We Offer
  • Competitive base pay within the posted range, based on experience, skills, and business needs.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and supplemental coverage options
  • Generous paid time off.
  • 11 paid holidays, plus 3 additional floating holidays.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Parental leave to support you and your family.
  • Paid time off to volunteer with nonprofit organizations or community service groups.
  • Fully remote work environment with flexibility to support work-life balance.
  • A collaborative, high-energy culture that values teamwork and innovation.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
  • Annual, fully paid company retreat hosted in various cities across the U.S. to connect, collaborate, and celebrate as a team.
  • An employee-led culture committee that keeps things engaged through lunch and learns, trivia, escape rooms, and other team-building activities.
