Unload Mental Health Care is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This important role involves supporting patients on their journey toward recovery from substance use disorders in a collaborative and compassionate environment. Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule. Standard working hours are from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some evening shifts potentially required to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the specific needs and treatment goals of patients seeking help for substance use disorders.
  • Develop and implement customized treatment plans that utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each individual's circumstances.
  • Deliver individual counseling sessions focusing on motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques to promote coping and recovery strategies.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions that encourage peer support and shared experiences among participants in their recovery journey.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and addiction specialists, to ensure integrated care and a comprehensive treatment approach.
  • Provide crisis intervention services during substance-related emergencies, offering immediate support and guidance.
  • Educate patients and their families on addiction, recovery processes, and available community resources to assist in the recovery journey.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential patient documentation in compliance with legal and ethical regulations.
  • Actively participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in substance use disorder treatment to deliver the highest standard of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically focuses on individuals experiencing substance use disorders, directly influencing their recovery pathways. You will work closely with patients from diverse backgrounds, who may also be dealing with co-occurring mental health issues. Understanding the nuances of these unique challenges is critical, as you guide patients through multi-faceted recovery processes, emphasizing empathy and resilience.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
  • Deep understanding of substance use disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy in addiction treatment settings.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for a non-judgmental and supportive therapeutic relationship with patients.
  • Proficiency in maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to ethical practices in mental health care.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred, along with proficiency in standard computer applications.
  • A proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, contributing to cohesive patient care.
Preferred Experience
